I need a drip of movies into my brain.

Yeah, I feel that way sometimes.

Although it's a blessing not to see a lot of movies. Since I know I have to be selective, I've already narrowed that list down to 2 or 3.

We actually didn't think "Fantastic Four" was that bad. Just kind of so-so dumb fun. Had we written the headline it would have read "Aeon Flux" notwithstanding. That movie is a cancerous polyp on the ^%*#! of humanity.

PErsonally, if I were narrowing it down to just one, it would be a toss-up between "Superman Returns" and "Flags of Fathers", with the man of steel likely winning.

He wins in my book

Yeah, the blurb is My opinion, and I don't claim it to represent anyone else's. FF was definitely the worst, and most disappointing movie I saw last year. But then, I saw like, 6 movies last year.

I loved the look at upcoming movies, especially because I didn't know about a lot of them. I look forward to the Gibbs' reviews of them. :)

Totally understood. All that matter is that we share the same enthusiasm for "Superman Returns". I could not be more excited.

I, on the other hand, am highly afraid of Superman Returns. It could be good, and I want to love it, but...I just can't shake the feeling that it's going to disappoint. Call me a pessimist.

I completely understand your trepidation. I'm getting over my worries mostly due to my faith in Bryan Singer's track record with making Super hero films and casting them with unknowns, and the kwoledge that they are using the John Williams theme. Yes, it could be a disappointment. But it's still the movie I'm most looking forward to.

I was nervous till I saw the trailer. That advertisement won me over. They're clearly keeping in mind all the baggage Superman fans will have (from the Reeves and the Reeve versions in addition to the comics). So, yeah, it could be the most disappointing film I see this year, but I'm encouraged about it.

After all, I *never* felt any confidence in the FF movie, which is sort of my benchmark now.

I've never been big on supes, and havn't seen any of the movies since I was like 10. The trailer bored me to tears.

One movie that I just realized we left out is Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette," with Kirsten Dunst. That's one I am very curious about.

The first 3 movies on this list are the only ones I'm planning on seeing, there are a few others that I might see depending on what I hear about them but I doubt it.  I'm with SE, I usually only see a few movies a year (2005 I saw about twice as many for various reasons) and nothing besides those 3 stand out as being worth my money and time.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Well, I plan on seeing the first 3 on the list too. There are also about 3-4 others on the list that I might see depending on how well they are reviewed and my availability.

UPDATE ON CASINO ROYALE:

In the article we mentioned that Naomi Watts was in talks to play Vesper Lynd. It now looks like the role will go to Rose Byrne, who was seen in "Troy."
