Ok, so this is almost over. I've kept up with the ridiculousness of it all, and I'm telling you, it's silly. If anyone was a fan of Speedball, well you'll be sorely disappointed now because he's become some emo dude who wears an iron maiden suit and calls himself Penance. Yeah, ridiculous. But now Warren Ellis is writing the Thunderbolts with this Penance character and who knows how that's going.
I dunno, the idea of bad guys trying to be good guys.... that kind of bothers me. Can I get an "oh yeah!"

I'm not at all bothered by bad guys who want to be good guys.
And I'm *supposed* to be bothered by good guys who use bad guys to do their work. And I am. Which is the thing that interested me about this month's issues. [hide]Captain America is essentially the one responsible for sicking Norman on the Atlanteans[/hide], which is both dispicable and very damaging to national security.
Aaaaaand... that was the only thing I liked about this month's issues of Civil War. They pretty much sucked, but at least I can almost like Spidey again.

Hmmm, I was unaware of the Norman thing. I'm pretty much limited to what I hear on internet about Civil War. But it does seem intriguing. Once it's all collected in one trade I'll look into going through this thing.

He sent Hulkling -- a Kree shapeshifter -- into the headquarters disguised as Tony Stark himself to modify the nanites that were to keep him under control. So, while Hulkling is the one whose fingers did the walking, so to speak, Steve is the one who engineered the plan. Making him responsible for Norman's escape and subsequent attack on the Atlantis embassy. Frankly, that smacks of treason to me. He was in the service of his beliefs, which is fine, but the results of his actions were highly predictable, and it endangered those who were not involved in the conflict. He is, in effect, a terrorist. Honestly I think that's worse than any violation of rights against him.

Between Cap and Stark's behavior, I'm going to have difficulty reading either of their titles for a long time. I think they've done things that they'll will regret to the point of criminal activity, and they should both be imprisoned for lengthy periods, if not for life. If that doesn't happen, honestly, it kind of ruins everything that has been said in Civil War.

Hmmm, interesting. I am thinking now that there might be more to meets the War than what I've been put on to believe. Maybe next time I'm out your way for our get-togethers I'll go through all the Civil War you have. Lord only knows how long it'll take for a trade to come out.
I am interested in seeing how things work out with Bendis' new Avengers titles.
Would you say someone could make a fair comparison of Captain America, in this instance, to Osama Bin Laden? Since he didn't actually execute the plan, but instead came up with it and helped make it work.
