lovely. So I'm not just wasting my time? Because In the last five days I've already had 2 fights with my wife. And I forgot to color with my second daughter like  I promised. And I'm surfing the web more, which kind of disgusts me. Not just hanging out on the web, talking to friends, but surfing. Just poking around. I hate that.

Odd, I never quite pictured EUOL as dealing out addictive writing lifestyles. Maybe that's part of the danger inherent in an Evil Undead OverLord.

EUOL is my crack-daddy.

I always thought EUOL meant Extra Undergarments for the Old Lady

And they're letting you TEACH this stuff?
He's trying to make pushers of us all. It's like multi-level marketing!

Woah...hit the nail right on the head.

This is the secret to a 10k word count in two days. You live your characters. You breathe their actions. Every second, every moment, you know, you find out, you discover, what comes next, what must happen now.

Here I was thinking I was just going insane or something because I have ceased to make any distinction between the real world and the world of my book. The fact it occurs in a warped version of my own city always helps.

no, jp, you ARE going insane. That's nto what he said. He said he thinks about what he's going to do, not that he loses his grip on what is real. He doesn't BECOME his characters, he just thinks about what they're like.

I don't become my characters, my characters become from me.

That is, it is somewhat autobiographical in nature.

Multi-level marketing indeed.  Marxist theory would have a field day with that one.

*screams in agony

I've been corrupted by theory!  Please, no, not the theory!

This has been helping me while writing today. After all, EUOL said it was OK if I wasn't writing something good, right? So I don't have to go back and make modifications to the last three chapters...right?

Exactly!

Think of it this way, Pro.  Fell might be moving back down to Provo/Orem.  If that happens, and everyone has NaNo books written, we could start up the Dragons again.

So, you need to write AS MUCH as you can AS QUICKLY as you can.  You can't edit yet--you have to wait for writing group for that.  Think how nice it would be to have 50k words done, to know where your book is supposed to go, before you start looking back at what you've written and fixing it.

So, write write write!  Don't worry about how bad it is.  You can fix that later.  You're trying to figure out what the ending of your book is.  That way, you can make the beginning so much better when you go back and revise it.
