So anyone know the day the next book comes out. I'm guessing it'll be in teh UK first, but thats fine. I just can't wait to read it.
-
I would love to know this wonderful tidbit of information, too. Though Dan hasn't posted any information about this on his blog, so maybe nothing is official at this point.
-
The official date for the UK release of Mr. Monster will probably be in early March; I will arrive a week or two afterward to do a UK signing tour. Also, and this is very cool, it's likely that the German release of Mr. Monster will also be in March, to line up with the Leipzig book fair, but that's still up in the air. We'll see what happens.

I can't wait for it and I'm already saving so I can travel if I have to just to get my copies signed.
-
Can't complain about only a year's wait, but its still going to be a long time.

Are they going to be delaying the US releases of the last two books like they have the first? Guess there'll always still be bookdepository and free shipping from the UK. Really looking forward to the next one. Had a good friend of mine read Serial Killer after I did (he finished it in one sitting) and he had to sleep with the lights on for the next two nights. Drove his wife bonkers. :D

I just got word today that the US cover is done, and I should have an image of it to post for you soon. As for the release schedule, expect the US versions to come out about every 6 months or so. Same with the German. That means the second one will arrive in fall of 2010, and the third will be out in Spring of 2011 in both the US and the UK, right about the same time. Which also means I need to get the edits finished on it ASAP.

Good luck, and get back to work!
*whip crack*
Woo, shiny covers.
-
As promised, the cover is here: http://www.fearfulsymmetry.net/?p=258

Wow. That is awesome.
-
That is really cool. Is that supposed to be a rip in the paper, or something else?
-
That's a rip. I got some bound galleys yesterday and they look subtly different; I suspect the art department is still tweaking the design.
-
Don't let them take away the embossed blood drops!!!
-
Unless they're replaced by real blood drops. From weeping orphans and widows.
-
That would start to smell funny after a while, though.
-
Looks good. Made me wonder though... the striped paper makes me think it's his writing, but the block lettering seems too computer generated. I half expected the letters to be scribbled into the page or similar.
Then again... i'm told my artistic side sucks :)
-
And they might leak through. :P
-
That would just add to the effect. Besides, for the true NOT A SERIAL KILLER, a book with real blood taken forcibly from innocents is a big plus, and possibly a get out of jail free card. When the police come. And look at personal belongings. With a warrant.
-
I haven't read the book yet so I don't know if the book is a plot element or not, but after watching Dexter I think keeping 'trophies' like blood or whatever is a really bad idea. :)
On that note, I really need to find this book. :)

I told my grandma that Mr. Monster was coming out in early March. She said, "Damn, I have to wait more!? I hate having a year between books. UGH, I want to read it!"
. . . .
Mind you, this is my grandmother, who hates all books that aren't realistic. The grandmother I had to force this book on before she finally relented and read it.
