Okay I just read the newest issue of Nation and it talked about how spongebo is displaying homosexuality....if any of you have read it too you know what I am talking about. Anyway I want to know if any of you think that spongebob really is displaying homosexuality. I personally think it is a harmless nickilodean cartoon.

The charges about Spongebob's homosexuality are, to my knowledge, based entirely on an educational movie he appeared in and have nothing to with the show. I haven't seen the movie in question, so I couldn't comment.

Correct Fell, he actauly only appears for a few seconds too.  The movie itself does not promote homosexuality either, it's a movie about how everyone should get along and not judge people that are different then you.

I haven't seen Spongebob, but I'd just like to point out that things like this are generally unsubstantiated... remember that Noddy was banned for quite a while because it supposedly promoted homosexuality (not racism of course :S) ie. Noddy and Big-Ears sleeping in the same bed... there is such a thing as complete innocence, but hey.

They're not gay...they're hetero-life partners.
There is a blurb in the new TV Guide that some nut is claiming SB to be promoting homosexuality. One, he has a friendship with another member of the same sex. And two, so what if he was?
There is some other PBS show that was attacked by the gov't for showing a maple syrup farm run by lesbians. They actually told PBS to reconsider these things in the future if they wanted funding.  ::)

Yeah, that's the Arthur spinoff Buster Bunny.

Bert and Ernie aren't gay. They aren't even really grown ups. They're like kids who share a bedroom. They share a bath because that's what little kids do. The fact that all my five and under girls share a bath does not make them lesbians.

That's because your daughters are related. Ernie and Bert aren't. Ernie and Bert are gay.

There you go!  That's more like it.  You both responded appropriately to a bit of condescending newbie slapdownage and used proper spelling and grammar while doing so. (mostly)

Perfect.
