There are actually non-creepy, unselfish, nice guys out there.

None of them visit this foruml, but that's for another thread.

I think Stacy's twitterpated!

I'm happy that SE thinks I'm creepy, given I go to great lengths to be the guy peoples parents warned them about.

I'm happy because I've realized something I've been doing wrong, and I know how to fix it.

SE's daughters had better be net savvy by the age of 10. Failure will be regarded as lack of sufficient geek cred. :P
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I'm getting another nephew in November. You'd better not despise any of my many nephews.

Since they're not trying to date his daughters yet I think he does not despise them.

Speaking of nephews, I'm happy that my nephew called me yesterday to tell me that he used the potty! He's been afraid of it forever, and my sister-in-law said he couldn't wait to tell me about it. I'm glad that adorable three year old thinks of me, his aunt 'Headar' (his version of Heather), as someone to share his accomplishments with.

*Sigh.* Ah, the days when using the big boy potty was considered an accomplishment. Things were simpler then.  ;)

LOL how true...
But you know what 7-10 years old was the best. Barefoot summers on broiling VA asphalt, riding my bike EVERYWHERE, exploring the woods...

Yeah no cares in the world.

I spent an entire summer at age 16 without wearing shoes except for the three hours at church each week.

Of course you didn't have cares as kids. However, with my expanded appreciation of those times, as well as the intellectual and aesthetic appreciations I've gained (not to mention the intimacy I had no capacity for back then), I'm thinking growing up was a fair trade.

I remember those days and miss them. It bugs me when I talk to kids and all they want to do is grow up so they can do whatever they want. They obviously have no idea that adults usually don't get to do whatever we want. I try to tell them this, but I don't think they believe me. We have to do what our boss wants, our spouse, our family, the creditors, the credit card company, the bank, and what many, many other people want. Oh, and if we have kids, what our kids want too (even though they don't realize it). We have way more bosses than kids do. If only they realized.

But since this is the happy thread, my nephew will be born in approx eleven days in North Carolina! (Although I'm sad I won't be there :(, but I'm happy to have another nephew). Yeah!

I'm happy that I'm a grown up and can therefore sit on the arm of my couch for as long as I want. No can get mad or make me stop, 'cause it's mine, Mine, MINE!!!!!

Seriously, this is one of my favorite things about being "grown up." ;D

Yay! I finally figured out how to get my computer to stop trying to access the stupid Verizon Online help thing every time it started up. I deleted it! They're gone for good. You know what? I think that's what has been messing up all these things in my computer, because now I don't get any errors on startup.
