I agree with  you, Reaves. Killing off characters just for the sake of having people die can ruin a story. You are also correct in saying that everybody shouldn't die–this isn't 'I Am Legend.'

Although I don't think this will happen, I think it would be cool if Rand got Elayne, Aviendha, or Min pregnant and then dies. Then it would be like he was passing his legacy down to his child. I don't know, I just think that'd be cool.

Um…Raphael, not to be mean or anything, but I think it's sort of a good thing that Mr. Sanderson's writing the story…no offense.

Everything Else / Re: Public School Writing Teachers

In your lifetime, you have no doubt either said or heard someone else say this question: "Why do we have to learn all this stuff? Why would I ever need to know how sedimentary rock is formed, or why you can't divide by zero?" I, too, have wondered this. But when I was in seventh grade, my math teacher was asked the same question, and responded with something alone the lines of this: "Truly, you don't. But the point of school is training your brain to think in certain ways. The specifics of Algebra I, for example {that was what we were learning at the time}, may not be useful in real life, but you will be able to apply the basics to real problems you will face." And that really is the point of school: to train your brain to think in certain ways in order to prepare you for the rigors of life. So wouldn't learning about creative writing be, in a sense, another way to train your brain?

It definitely could be….But you know how after every book in WoT, RJ ends the book with a quote/poem/prophesy from some characters from his story? Maybe that will be the quote….

I personally hope RJ kills off at least some characters in AMoL. I find a book much more powerful and gripping if the author creates characters who the readers can associate with and like, and then kills (some of) them off. (But not if they just like fall off a building and die by accident. It has to be meaningful.)

It's a bit different from Shrimp Scampi, though. (1)Camarones al Ajillo is generally an appetizer, and thus not as large a portion as Shrimp Scampi often is. (2) Shrimp Scampi is served on a bed of rice  (usually). (3) Shrimp Scampi is much heavier than Camarones al Ajillo (at least the ones that I've eaten. There are several different ways to prepare Shrimp Scampi)–the Scampis I've had have mostly used butter (which is one reason I'm not a huge fan of them). Otherwise, though, they are similar.

Yes, it is an extremely tasty dish.

Actually, I made a mistake. I forgot–it's 'Camarones al Ajillo,' not 'Camarillos.' My apologies

I am not entirely sure; I only ate them a year or two ago. However, I believe it is (cooked) shrimp prepared in an olive oil-type sauce with garlic, sea salt, and red chili flakes. It is served very hot (temperature-wise) and often (by preference(can be altered by usage of chili flakes)) spicy as well.

I am sorry; this is the best I can do. My memory is none too great, unfortunately.

I'm not sure that Birgitte could really be the Daughter of the Nine Moons…. The DotNM (abb.) is a Seanchan title, and has been for many, many years. It was clear that it was currently held by a person while Birgitte was still attached to the Wheel in Tel'aran'rhiod. The timing just doesn't really work when you think about it.
Also, the differences (even tiny details) between Mat and Gaidal are rather large. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Gaidal has always been a rather ugly human when spun from the wheel–and from what we seen, Mat certainly is not. And I also think that Gaidal has always been of a willful, brave, stand-and-fight nature. Mat is willful, and brave (this could certainly be debated), but I think he would often run and save himself then risk the chance of dying by staying and fighting. These are my thoughts.

Has anyone ever had this dish…not one hundred percent what it's called but I think it's like 'Camarones al Ajillo' or something. Has anyone had it?

Books / Re: Latest Pendragon Book: "Raven Rise"

Yeah it's about as far from Arthurian legend as you can get.

I think a big difference between Pendragon and the Harry Potter books is that throughout the Pendragon series, Bobby is constantly making jokes (and sometimes they're pretty funny). He's sort of a "roll-with-the-punches" kind of guy, and this creates a lighter atmosphere (in parts of the book) that is extremely different from the Harry Potter series. Although the book does progress a lot, in my opinion, it remains geared towards the young-teenage age group. But others may not necessarily find it so.

I think it's a man, actually.

Yeah, I hate that part….Actually I think i just hate cold shrimp in general. I LOVE warm/hot/spicy :D shrimp, but I just can't stomach cold/chilled shrimp (often on cocktails). Just doesn't taste good.

I don't think it works that way. The ceremony Elaine and Aviendha went through–I think they and some (all?) of the people in the room felt like they were going through it, but it was an illusion. Elaine and Aviendha weren't physically reborn–it just wouldn't make sense. And, also, just because they were "reborn" doesn't mean they were perfectly healed–if all their illnesses and pains were taken away, I am sure Rj (through Elaine and Aviendha) would have mentioned something.

I agree with the notion that Rand would lose 'cause he hasn't been fighting his whole life, but…a couple of points. (1) It's in his blood, (2) he was trained by the best (Lan), and he HAS been perfecting his use of the Void since he was a child–Tam tought it to him and he used it for archery. But you're probably right nonetheless. I also don't know the two characters you say could best him, so my opinion isn't worth much.
