Title: Just got back from vacation.
Post by: Eerongal on September 22, 2009, 02:20:38 PM
Just got back from my vacation to kansas city today, had a great time. How was everyone else's weekend?

Me and a few friends went to KC to visit the renaissance festival there. Good times, anyone else ever been?

I had a job interview there once.  They didn't like me :(

I haven't  been to the one in KC but I have been to the Bristol Renaissance Fair in Kenosha WI. It was good times. I almost shot my friend with a compound bow by accident. :o

Almost killing your friend (emphasis on almost) = good times by definition

Yeah, we have a local one where i live (the St louis one) which we go to every year, however, the one in KC is easily 3~4 times larger than the local one, so going there is like a special treat for us.

The KC one is actually the largest one i've been two (i've only been to two others, aside from KC and STL, both in Ohio, which were roughly the same size if a tad larger than the STL version)

Obviously. What would life be like without friends to practically murder?!

I've only been to the fair right outside of Dallas.. though i've been 3 times. There was this stand with partly crushed tomatoe (to decrease your accuracy) and you try to hit this vulgar guy who insults everyone who walks by. Well, my brother and I threw 3 tomatoes and exchanged jabs with him. We walked away laughing he was pisted which makes it even more funny.

Did you manage to nail him?

My hand eye cordination is just over average when tested, so no. My brother who was a pitcher until he threw his arm out, was being scouted by UT and other major university's too, missed because your grip sucked.

Ooo... one of the years I'm going to have enough money to tour the entire circut.  (Either that or else I'm going to be able to go with one of my friends who works the fairs.)

The best fair I've ever gone to is "Age of Chivalry" down in Vegas.  three days long, and it's a great one.  If you get the chance to go, you should.  It worth it.  I can't wait for it!

I just went to the North California Renaissance Festival last weekend.  I think I really need to dress up next time.  I felt REALLY out of place...  especially when they would do the 'G'day M'Lord' and I responded 'm'lady.'   Next time...

Three days? that's kinda short, the one here goes on for about a month, and the KC one goes on for just under two! (weekends only, though)

Yeah, me and my friends usually dress up. It's good fun and helps you get into it.

The Dallas fair goes on for 6 or 7 weekends... and very few people dress up
