I think the fact that they were going to detonate them with rigged iPods and Cellphones is very disturbing. Then again, this is the technological age where toddlers code viruses. In a way, it doesn't surprise me. :-[

I have a myspace. I must admit, the layouts are terrible. However, some of my friends check it more than their voicemails, so it comes in handy.

Music / Re: Music actually affects the way you behave?
« on: August 07, 2006, 09:46:30 PM »
Well, since I am a YA, I completely agree with the study. At my school one can distinctly notice the similarities in people and the music they listen to.
EX:
--Rock and songs with depressing lyrics are generally found with the 'goths' or 'emo' kids.
--Rap, R&B, and Light Rock, are found with the popular crowd.
--The 'plain' kids, I've noticed, like a variety of music rather than one specific genre.

The school censors the music at dances and assemblies. I've heard so many kids protesting that their "favorite" songs aren't being played. When the teachers and principal say "It's because of the raunchy lyrics," the kids who are whining respond, "We listen to the beat." I've seen them dirty dance and sing the lyrics without even thinking about it. It affects them whether they want to believe it or not.

I've finally started the last few parts of my book, which means I'll be able to re-order events and edit soon! (I write the different character stories and then intertwine them).

And, my brother is almost done shooting his movie! He'll be moving out soon, and I'm taking his bedroom.

The prices were horrible when I was overseas! I vacationed for a month this summer in Spain and France with my family. The exchange rate would have come out to about $6 per liter.

It does make me want to get a car that's powered on something other than gasoline. Prices are going to get crazy.

Everything Else / Alaska Pipeline Closed

Quote
In a blow to drivers already struggling with high gas prices, BP shut down the biggest oilfield in the United States, cutting off about 8 percent of the nation's oil supply. BP said it had found "unexpectedly severe corrosion" in the pipeline in Alaska's Prudhoe Bay. The U.S. Energy Department will consider loaning emergency supplies to refiners caught short of supply, a spokesman said today.

Well, I just started writing a short story. I was inspired after reading one of those "Unexplained Mystery" books. It might turn out well.  :-/

-- When they have the "flu", all the vomit is pea soup.

-- When they keep telling you to eat a cream puff saying, "Ye shall be as gods!"

-- If they say they're for world peace only after every person has taken their mark.

Hey, I was on ign.com and I noticed this article http://ps3.ign.com/articles/721/721955p1.html.

I sure hope they won't be doing away with E3. What do you guys think?

Books / Re: What not to read
« on: July 31, 2006, 02:59:42 PM »
The Tommyknockers by Stephen King.

If he had just shortened the descriptions and content of the first two parts of the book, it would have made a really fun read; however, for the first two thirds of the book it's just drug on and on with no real interesting points until the final section.
