Rants and Stuff / Nifty job opportunity
« on: January 27, 2006, 01:28:18 PM »
I was browsing the internet today, and came across this nifty job opening: http://jobsearch.monster.com/getjob.asp?JobID=38715586&AVSDM=2006%2D01%2D25+14%3A44%3A07&Logo=1&q=editor&fn=5623&cy=us

Anyone want to be an editor for DC comics? :)

I must just be very lucky--Chris cooks just as much as, and often more often than, I do. We both enjoy cooking, and we're both pretty good at it (MsFish says that we have a combined superpower--making anything we cook taste good :) ).

We both like to experiment and make up new recipes, too.

I think this is because both of our mothers didn't really know how to cook when they got married (our fathers taught them), and both sets of parents made sure their offspring could cook so we wouldn't have problems later on.

That said, Chris made some killer cheese enchiladas yesterday, and I learned how to make a Hot Milk cake that seems like it'd be perfect for part of a strawberry shortcake.

And starting a ton of new threads on a board when you first begin posting is rude when you don't even take the time to 1. look for a FAQ, 2. Look to see if there's a thread on that subject, and 3. make sure you have a general feel for the board you are joining.

New people are always welcome, and new discussions are always fun. That's what keeps discussions lively and people posting. But respect is important. And if someone has asked you to please respect the rules of a place, it behooves you to take the time to find out what those rules are, either by searching for them yourself or by politely asking "Oh, I'm sorry. Could you please point me in the right direction?"

While they're not the main focus of the story, Pancha and his wife (from Emperor's New Groove) are both very kind and good parents, and they have a very strong and happy family life...and they kind of take Kuzco in and show him how families and lives should be, I think.

I wasn't sure if this should be under "cool stuff" or "disturbing stuff," but I was amused either way. :)http://www.spiralandcircle.com/sushi%20set%202.jpg

Chris and I won't know if we can come until probably right before. Brenna will be 10 months old, but I don't know how she'd handle it. Also, depends on if we can earn some of that "money" stuff beforehand in order to pay for such a trip. :)

We'd like to go, but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm not sure which one I read. I did read about Vin. Is that this version? I read it on paper, though. The only one I've read electronically is the Dark One (which I'll hopefully be sending you comments on in the next little while).

Did I read the first Mistborn book? I think I read one version of it, but I don't remember.
