Are you TWiG fellows accepting new proposals?
I've been designing a homebrew mini game that desperately needs a setting. Were this a fantasy game, I'd have no problem. I've got a billion ideas for fantasy.
No, this is sci-fi. Non-alien, psuedo-hard sci-fi. And for some reason I can't come up with something that doesn't seem completely trite.
I'll give you more details if you're up for helping, but if you're still refining the fantasy world then I'll just wait a while :)
-
Come to me little sci-fi baby. Hush, don't say a word. Daddy's gonna buy you a mocking bird. And if that mocking bird don't sing, daddy's gonna whack it with a 2x4.
So, over all, I'm everything of glad to help you Mr. P. Fantasy, smantasy. Sci-fi, woo.
-
Not sure I'm following you Mr.P, TW(I)G is a fantasy setting. There absolutly no science in it at all. I wanted to add Bio-Wizardry but the others didn't like the idea. So is your mini-game Sci-Fi then?
-
Howie Mandell already did that one, Gemm, and better:
Hush little baby dont' say a word,
Daddy's gonna buy you a mocking bird
And if that mocking bird don't sing
Gonna grab its feathers and rip off its wings.
as for the real subject of the post
here's what my thoughts were for procedure:
1) Design a setting in some detail (in progress)
2) design an RPG mechanic to go with the setting
2a) simultaneously design a tabletop mechanic, preferably compatible.
2b) maybe start the fiction for the setting at this point
3) design new settings to go with the systems, a la d20
so probably, since you have a game already, it won't work with the TW(i)G project. HOwever, that doesn't stop anyone from helping you on it. since it's a mini game, it probably doesn't need as much as the TW(i)G one does, and I might be willing to whip something up after November ends.

You're welcome to make a game that has nothing to do with TW(I)G setting/system and have TWG host the rules. Fell's got something up in the Tabletop game section. If we actualy got a coupple of house rules or your own games I could make a section in the TOC for them.
Also TW(I)G is kinda on hold this month becasue of the novel thingy. Not that we won't take ideas or voulenteers now, it's just all the people (except me and one or two others) who actualy want to work on this are writeing a novel right now.
-
y'know, on that note, if we're really going to have a lot of stuff for TW(i)G, we might want to establish it's own heading. If there is going to be fiction and table top for it, than it doesn't work in RPGs or OTher.
And on THAT note, what's the official category for board games? Table top? what about non-collectable card games... Other?
-
Ya non-CCG card games are other, as board games are other as well. Fell's been lamenting for quite sometime on where to put them but he feels that CCG should be collectable and table top are minature based games.
As for adding a TW(I)G headder. If we actualy get a complete rules, setting etc, Fell will probaly add a TW(I)G icon and deparment. But I don't think he wants to goto the hassel untill we have something worth posting that deserves to have it's own deparment.

Oops, sorry.
Guess I didn't completely understand what TWiG was about.
Still could use the help though. Or at least inspiration. I'll post up the details under a more appropriate heading later. Probably in TableTop Games.

Let me know when you get around to designing the rpg system. I had an idea along those lines the other day (just a small one.)
-
I put Fell in charge of the RPG system.
-
You did? Neat. I've kind of been ignoring Twig all month, for obvious reasons, but come December I'd love to hear your ideas, Kije.
-
idea. I only have one.
-
Well you've got a week, come up with more.
