Soul Caliber 4 was extremely disappointing. I feel I have a $60 paperweight right now. The multilayer is done perfectly fine, it's a fighting game so not really hard to mess up. The problem comes when you attempt to play "storyline" mode. A few generic blocks of text and a random twelve second cut screen to somehow tell you what happens to the character is not useful. I am not expecting Hideo Kojima level storytelling here, but at least give us something better than would be on a box of Fruity Pebbles.

I understand the frustration, and am myself a little saddened that it is not there. But I think it psychologically makes people want to post more regardless of the fact of having something to say. The same thing where people Max-Stat in RPGs.

Finished Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. Story was much more interesting with all the footnotes and biographical and historical information.

Just started Elantris, and not entirely sure what I think yet. Very intrigued where things are actually heading, but not entirely sure what kind of story I am getting into. Feel like I am at a disadvantage somehow.

I did not know that. Should be interesting since his brain is crazy on a normal day.

Started reading Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Figured as a linguist, I should probably have read these at some point.

I really enjoyed Good Omens. I definitely laughed a lot, and thought a lot of the ideas were put forth very cleverly. Not at all what you would expect from an Apocalypse book. Neverwhere is still my favorite of his works, but it might just be how much I could relate to Richard's character.

Just started Anansi Boys. Definitely feels like the same writing style found in American Gods, but I am curious where it is these characters are taking us. Too soon into the story, so haven't gotten a why do we care yet. I am sure I will be intrigued as always.

Yeah, that would make more sense. My urge to draw tree diagrams to explain where the confusion existed is hard to overcome. Suffice it to say, somehow I read it as the producers literally made money useless by making an album.

Epic Comprehension Fail.

I have run into a technical problem I think. I want to comment on responses posted before me, and I also want to post my own response. I know there is a no double posting rule but I am curious if this is random exception. I like to try and keep my thoughts very organized and together when I put them to paper so putting everything into one post seems counter to that. I can forgo that here if people feel I need to, but wanted to bring it up in case I can still adhere to that in some way I might not be seeing right now.

@jjb

Your idea of color worshipers intrigues me. I am very curious how this idea started in your world. Where did it start and how did it grow. Who started the assassinations  and the genocides?Might not be important topics, but those are the kinds of things I usually ask.

For the deaths from your Yellow worshipers, my first though went to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaundice. I am not sure how you would explain inflicting such a thing on a person, but not exactly my thing to research =p. If nothing else, hope that give you a place to start.

Writing Prompt:
Develop a religion where people worship something that no one would ever worship in our world. And it can’t be silly.

I envision an entire town that has been transported a few hundred years into the future. The town would be very small settlement of people in a pre-industrial society who are shifted to a time where electronic systems have been widely implemented and become more standardized. A highly technological society with patternized and highly recognizable systems.

The people from the time shifted town would begin to see entry systems as tools from the gods of access. Keypads and card readers would become holy objects to them. These objects would be how the gods spoke to them. Being able to pass into an area would be a sign of acceptance and great rejoice. Anytime you were able to enter would be a holy-ing experience. Anytime you were unable to access an area would be a sign that you have committed some sin. You would need to remove yourself from the group and cleanse yourself. You must purge yourself of whatever sin you have committed against the gods of access.

There also would be inhabitants from the current time period that begin to join this religion. All followers would be at first accepted, but soon a division of people from the original village and current time followers would emerge. The time shifted citizens would feel that they are the true chosen ones, and anyone from the current time period can never be as holy. Anytime a new time follower could not access an area, they would not be allowed the same leniency for cleansing. Since they were not of the chosen group, the could never be fully cleansed and would thereby be excommunicated.

The only ones I have not beaten are VIII and X-2 (Not counting XI in that). Those two feel like endurance trials more than actual games or stories. If anyone has any helpful advice on getting through them I will be most appreciative. I have gained this vengeance to finish and refuse to be defeated...or something like that.

I have been reading that series for a long time. At first it felt more adult than Robert Jordan's, but I think that was just a childish mistake at what adult actually meant. The Sword of Truth series really stopped holding anything for me when Goodkind's book became more about preaching his philosophy than taking his characters on the journey that they were actually going on. I am definitely still curious where they end up, but have much more pressing matters to attend to...like re-grouting my bathroom.

I am not sure if anyone I know was expecting this movie to be quite this deep and dark. Overall that gave the whole thing a great experience to come away from. There were things about the movie that definitely made me less than thrilled that they happened. However, the one thing that keeps on ringing in my brain when I think back to this movie is what I said after we walked out of the theater, "Apparenly Heath Ledger was in that film...not really sure where though."
He was the joker. ha ha.  In any case I have a theory about that.

I think they producer had him killed.  Why?

Batman has decreased in popularity.

They wanted to make money.

Result.

Everyone now loves Batman

They broke money making records.

I am not entirely sure what your last sentence means. Not sure if there is a referent I am not remembering or if the gibberish in your mind and the gibberish in my mind are clashing with each other in some epic battle right now preventing comprehension.

I will add this though: If your conspiracy is true, and the producer did in fact cause the death of Heath Ledger, then the only way I can see that being plausible, is due to the fact that he realized how good the piece was portrayed, and he  knows there is no possibility for a follow-up. Everyone would just be disappointed from then on...even though it would make more sense to just kill the character instead. However, that last part makes sense so it is clearly suspect and ignorable.
