All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

A gift certificate to Borders
A Bach cd
A picture frame
A whole bunch of horse things, because my grandma picks them up at garage sales and buys cheap DVDs with horses on them, because I liked horses when I was 12. I've told her of other recent interests, and she did get me the frame, which I appreciate, but I never quite know what to do with all the horses.

Start collecting horse stuff and sell it on Ebay when you get a large enough collection.

Oh my, you should see the collection I have. Never thought of Ebay. Most of them just go under my bed in a box till I can get them home for a yard sale. So I haul these horses around with me to Boston (no place to leave them at home) and then turn around and bring them back to sell them for pennies--or I just get so tired of having them around that I toss them. Which seems kind of bad, what with them being gifts. Well, selling them isn't so great either, but what can you do except keep hauling them around?

A more sturdy DDR dance pad,
DDR Extreme,
A camera printer thingy,
$50 to Barnes and Nobles,
and a bunch of old coins to add to my collection.  :)

Selling them is the best option by far.

Especially since someone who really wants them gets them, and you end up with cash for things you want or need.

I got.... a pair of work gloves, a stiff brush for car washes. And a journal.

I sometimes hate my in-laws. If they aren't going to buy me something I want, I wish they'd just save their money and/or buy something else for my girls. I don't need this crap.

Fortunately, Christmas with MY parents is tomorrow.

That sucks, and I dont understand it. You and I talked about this a little on your birthday and it bothered me a lot.  You pretty much buy what you need for yourself, if you need a carwash brush, you'll buy a carwash brush, ditto gloves... the journal is the only thing that seems like you. If you needed cookware or something big, I could see that as a gift because its not cheap, or always justifiable. Thats why I helped out last year with the pans. As a parent of 3 the luxury you dont have is getting what you want because you are always buying what you need. It also bothers me because they don't seem to know you. They could have put together something nice for you that you would like for a limited amount of money, but they chose not to. Arggg... it makes me angry. We'll have to do something about that, want to Halo 2 a little this weekend?

sounds like a good idea. I'll see if it's workable. Might not be. My brother and his new bride come into town in the next few days, and we'll want to do family stuff to get to know her (kirsti and the girls haven't even met her).

It's not so much even stuff I need versus want, though. I don't really NEED either of these things. I don't wash the car much and I don't have a yard to work in. the $5 or whatever COULD have gotten me any of a half dozen things that were on my list.  A book, a used CD, an action figure. And I wouldn't have been so frustrated on Christmas.

Maybe its a not so subtle hint to wash your car and work in their yard.

Better late than not I suppose...

Nightmare Before Christmas: Santy Claws lighted sculpture, desk set, tie, Jack & Sally figures, calendar (with Halloween countdown clock)
Star Wars: new 12" vintage-style figures, Jango helmet
DVD: Happy Days S1, Clerks X, Land of the Lost S1, Eerie Indiana
Shadows Over Baker Street (book)
His & hers matching Peanuts pjs

and the coolest thing by far: an Icons Darth Vader lightsaber hilt. This was the company making replicas a few years back that went out of business. I'm not sure how they found it but I am so thrilled they did!

actually, the desk lamp I got for my birthday last month was pretty cool. It'a  think geek ergonomic lamp for the top of my monitor.
