So, this book is surprisingly good. I know, I know--everyone told me it was better than the movie. The thing is, I figured that wouldn't be too hard a bar to achieve. Pretty much ANYTHING would be better than the movie.
The book, however, is actually quite good. It's a Space Opera without much real attempt at characterization, but it's exciting and well-plotted.

I remember it being quite enjoyable. Though its science is dodgy - one does not examine alien biology with a testtube alone.
-
You didn't like the movie? I remember reading a copy quite awhile ago that said "soon to be a major motion picture"; this was at least 10 years before the movie actually came out.

The movie was terrible. It wasn't even 'Starship troopers, laugh and enjoy the silly action' terrible. It was just plain terrible.

Please, please stop this lazarus action of resurrecting threads. This one's from... two YEARS ago! Sheesh

For someone promoting peace you sure did a lot of attacking in that last post. Little piece of advice: calm down before you get smacked down, and follow the FAQ at least most of the time. Its there for a reason, and that isn't to be looked at, they aren't rules, they're more like guidelines. But guidelindes still need to be followed.

Darkjetti, consider this a warning: thread necromancy is one thing, but insulting a longtime member in good standing is a whole new level of rules infraction. Please play nice.

Darn it, would you people please stop deleting the noobs before I get to read their annoying comments? It's like hearing one side of a phone conversation. >:( ;)

I think he deleted himself.

Whoa.. that was weird.. none of this made sense until I got to the part about the new guy deleting himself.
