Promotions, as a general rule...

(Can positive things be rants too?)

I am getting promoted...well, they're creating a new position of top copy editor, and I'm it. I'll get to tell the other copy editors what to do. I don't get benefits (alas) but I do get the hours, a raise, and a desk to call my own. I'm quite stoked. Yay yay yay!

Yes. There is one opening for a copy editor. You want to move to Los Angeles?

You would really get along with Aaron, one of the other copy editors, who is a huge comics fan and is on Comic-Con staff every year.

yeah, it'd be really cool to work there, I think, but taking a pay cut for it when I don't think I'm making enough... I just can't do that right now. I'll just have to quietly envy you from across the country.
