Snakes on a mother****ing plane man!

That's why.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

Hahaha, well, I guess if the number of views here is anything to what they can expect in the box office, they'll do just dandy.

This movie has had a larger grassroots fan campaign, more than a year in advance of its release, than probably any movie other than LotR. I honestly don't think they're worried about it tanking.

I am not going to see the movie (well, maybe if it's someday shown edited on network television, but I reserve the right to change the channel if I get squeamish), but to me the title has a large amount of honest appeal to it. I have to respect Samuel L. Jackson's desire to do a movie that is absolutely unpretentious.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

I was going to go see this movie until the re-filmed parts to make it R since fans on the net were wanting violence and Sam Jackson saying the F-bomb every 5 seconds.  Can't blame paramount for that either, if you find a huge web community talking about your movie a year before it comes out and can read what people are hoping for you'd be dumb not to change some things to meet their expectations.

I'm still totally going to see it.

SNAKES ON A PLANE!
SNAKES ON A PLANE!

how can you *not* love something that dumb. I mean, to say it sounds B-movie is to state the obvious in such a way that it demeans both yourself and everyone who hears you. The title needs no explication. And it's obvious that the film isn't trying to be anything more.

Wait.....You flip out over the abbreviation of W T F being used on the forum yet are going to go see a movie that will use the F word like 500 times?  Ok.  ::)

Isn't that how the snakes got on the plane in the first place?

This is so cool on so many levels: the movie studio making Snakes on a Plane held a contest for garage bands to submit songs for the movie. The winner and first runner up both get into the actual soundtrack of the movie. You can listen to the winners here (one F-bomb warning for Captain Ahab), and they're actually pretty good: http://www.tagworld.com/snakesonaplane
