Called the actual driver of the truck with my stuff. It won't be leaving Chicago until WEDNESDAY. That means I won't get my stuff for at least ANOTHER WEEK. This after the guy said on Monday that it would be six more days. So that adds another week on top of the two weeks I've already waited when they said it was on its way. This is ridiculous!

To top it off, in their contract, they're supposed to deliver it within 21 business days of being notified of an address to deliver it to. I notified them on Monday, May 16. That makes next Tuesday--the day before it leaves Chicago--the last day by contract that they should be delivering. That means they BETTER be giving me a nice hefty discount. I'm really ticked about this. And especially if I end up going to ALA at the end of the month, that means that I'll have to arrange for someone to be there if I'm out of town the day they finally get there. Dang, I'm so tired of eating with plastic silverware. I want my bike. I want my books. I want my blankets and other clothes. Grrrr!  >:(

If it is in the contract, you should definitely get some money back. This is the sort of thing that my mom would be all over--she'd call and complain and pester until she got a full refund, no doubt.

I don't know how much effort it would take, but it sounds like they are really failing in their service, and you should get some sort of consolation for your inconvenience.

What I'm going to argue for is the payment I've already given them should be enough, and I shouldn't have to give them the balance due (which is about a third of the overall bill).

(Psst... check your PMs, Chimera.)

Pupil dilation is the bane of my existence. One's recreational possibilities are rather limited when one can not see. Oh, and I just discovered that to get to the A.C.T. test tomorrow, I have to get up earlier than I had to during the school year. Man, summer vacation is just peachy.

I'm grumpy because I feel terrible and I'm bored.  :P

I hate being sick, because even with all sorts of things that would keep you from being bored, you get bored anyway because you can't concentrate on any of them.  :P That's what January was like for me--I had this horrible sinus infection/flu thing that lasted about a month, and couldn't do anything. And it was on my Christmas break, so it was good and bad--good because I didn't miss class, but bad because it totally ruined half my trip to Utah and the rest of my vacation in which I'd planned to write, but didn't have enough energy to do anything but watch bad TV.

I'm so tired today, myself. I should be reading right now, but instead I'm watching Persuasion yet again (you should watch it if you haven't; it's a great movie). But I did get my suitcases finally unpacked--my clothes are in a dresser again for the first time in a month!

My husband's father died today, so I'll be heading out to Ohio presently and won't be around much for a bit.

Was it a long illness or unexpected?  How is J.T. doing? My condolences.

So sad.  :( At least with a long illness you feel some sort of preparation.
