You need to take some survival lessons from us girls, since all of the girls survived on Saturday night and you, well... didn't.
A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. I'm actually having second thoughts about going. I mean, I won't know anyone. At all. And that will probably be weird. And I don't have a car, which complicates everything. So we'll see if I actually make it to one of their game night things.
I'm also a little disappointed that none of the guys I talked to came and posted. I gave them all the information. Sad.
