Chaos, this is awesome! Thanks for the thorough laugh.
A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. As for Tolkien, I don't like him for the same reason I don't like Jordan--dry, overly wordy, etc. I don't see being overly verbose as any sign of intelligence or a hallmark of great literature. I'm also just not a fan of Tolkien-esque elements in fantasy--regardless of the author, I have little interest in orcs, willowy, woodsy elves, hobbits/halflings (*shudder*), the list goes on.
Those are interesting theories but in the book it said that Suseborn not only healed his tongue but gave him the knowledge on how to use breaths and commands and everything else sooo.... yeah i dont remember anything else
I'm only at the beginning of book 5...
I thought I had time!
Must... Read... Faster...
Personally I have no problem at all with someone reviewing an author's work critically. I think the difficulty comes when you begin to "critique" it unsolicited. While I'm sure Brandon would love feedback its hard for him to honestly accept your critique without either knowing you personally or your credentials. Are you a published author or reviewer? In other words, what makes you more qualified than the average Joe?
Anyway, those are just my thoughts. Welcome to these forums and I hope you enjoy your stay!
First, the pacing was not as brisk as the first book, and often became bogged down in characters reminiscing or thinking over the same ideas/reflections over and over. I do not need to hear for the 15th time how it is difficult to be king. The first 14 were plenty. Less reiterating please. It gets redundant.
Hmmm how about Ryan Reynolds as Lightsong?
I kinda want Kiera Knightly for Vivena, and Daniel Craig for Vasher.
Really disappointed, still no book
Oscar Wilde's dialogue with the action of the Bourne Identity.
Link to the shirt. It's even on sale!
I sent my husband and two oldest children off camping, made pizza for my younger ones, and put on several videos.
I am an evil Mom, but only when there is a book I really need to finish.
