I am getting a crustload of manga...for free...
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

It's like when, say, the entire 3-year old population of the world takes the crusts off their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at once, and throws them on the proverbial floor of the universe and THAT is a large amount.

My roommate for the last year (until I got married) is the translator for Angel Sanctuary (after vol. 3 or something like that), so I helped him out with all sorts of weird names and strange religious mysticism terminology. And a guy I used to work with is the rewriter for Fullmetal Alchemist...

I hope VIZ does a good job with FMA because it's one heck of a cool manga.

The series I do the most work with are GetBackers, Jing Twilight Tales, and Lagoon Engine. I do lots of work with other stuff like Fruits Basket as well. (This week I'll be copyediting the printouts of GetBackers 10 and Fruits Basket 10, and then the scripts for GetBackers 11 and Tokyo Mew Mew a la Mode 2, followed by the script for Lagoon Engine 3, probably with various other things on the side).

Yes, Full Metal Alchemist is very good...oh so very good.  I can't believe you're working on Get Backers and Fruits Basket....my roommate would freak out about that...she loves them...and I love GetBackers (I haven't seen/read Fruits Basket yet :))

So yeah, that's like...woah

Ok ok ok. So the comic store I frequent is moving and having a sale. 50% off everything, except the new comics for that week. Yesterday I go in there, happily with my nice big paycheck all nicely tucked away in my bank account, ready to get some comics. I proceed and get Sandman 6, 7, 8, and 10. They didn't have 9! Forsaked! I also picked up Swamp Thing #2, didn't have #1 boo, Preacher #1, Ultimate Spider-Man #2 (my friend has #1), and the Tick Omnibus #4. OOohhh, I'm so fulfilled!
