Title: Keenspot and malware
Post by: Spriggan on June 21, 2004, 03:04:55 AM
Just a heads up, I was browseing though some keenspot comics and 77 different files of various mal and addware were installed on my PC.  They were all installed via that internet optimizer hack that's going around (with the Lycos program) that installs all the files on your PC without your permission.  I'm assumeing its a random add on one of the sites that did it.  I'm going to be fileing a complaint with KS anyway.  I'm just glad Addaware removes all the stuff.

Haven't heard about this particular hack.  How do you get infected by it?

it automaticaly installs via the active x controls you can't do anything to stop it from installing besides setting up your internet security very high or getting certain programs that would prevent them.

Its sad, Keenspot could really take a hit from something like this too.
