Title: Messing with Google's head
Post by: Fellfrosch on January 26, 2006, 08:00:40 PM
I want to see an ad for a frog. Like maybe a frog for sale, or some frog paraphernalia. A frog who fights crim would be cool, but, you know, I won't hold it against adsense if I don't get one.

Anyway: frog, I choose you!

Dang, no frog's yet. We must fill this thread with froggy goodness.

Frog went a-courtin', and he did ride.
With a sword and a pistol by his side.

Um...

It's not easy being green?

I just saw the following in the Google ads on this page:

Frog Legs
Fresh seafood including frog legs &
alligator shipped to your door.

I got the same as Eric plus an add for a place to buy frog food.

I wonder if they have anything on ninja monkeys. Monkeys and bananas and black belts and ninjas and karate.

Shoot. It came up with "money" not "monkey." What kind of crap system does google have?  >:(

I got find maryland frogs and frogs legs and fresh seafood delivered to your door. Success!

Which is cool, because now all we have to do is talk about stuff and we dont even have to surf google to find it. Google just finds it for us and gives us a link!

I wonder if they have any frog habitats?
Title: Re: Messing with Google's head
Post by: Mad Dr Jeffe on January 26, 2006, 10:15:45 PM

Frog habitats!
Title: Re: Messing with Google's head

LoL. What did it give you, "How to kick the frog habit" ?

;)
Title: Re: Messing with Google's head
Post by: Mad Dr Jeffe on January 26, 2006, 10:22:59 PM
sadly no, it gave me non frog related stuff... I'd talk about it but it wouldnt be about frog habitats...
the link I did get told me more how this stuff works, so Im trying to skew the system.

I had a friend who used to work at hidden valley nature center. they had frog habitats there, terrariums too.

Man, why I can't I get frogs? Or frog habitats? I think we should start subsituting the word "frog" for everything we can: I want this frogging thing to frog me a frog about frogs, and I want it frogging now!

I sound like a smurf.

There are around 3,900 species of tailless amphibians, or Anura, also called Salientia, including the frog and toad.

Amphibians
Frogs are members of the zoological class called Amphibia.  Amphibians are cold-blooded (or poikilothermic) vertebrate animals. They differ from reptiles in that they lack scales and generally return to water to breed. They are one of three types of Amphibians. Anura, also called Salientia, (frogs and toads), caudate (salamanders and newts) and caecilians (worm-like amphibians).

Herps and Herpetology
Amphibians together with reptiles make up a larger group called Herps. The study of reptiles and amphibians is called Herpetology. Herp comes from the Greek word herpeton, which basically means "creepy crawly things that move about on their bellies."
A herptile is an individual herp. A person who keeps and breeds herps is called a herpetoculturist and the hobby is called herpetoculture.

Just a sign that I have monkeys on the brain...

So I'm browsing wikipedia and looking at a list  of "Number-one dance hits of 2003" and I thought it was really weird that Cher had made a song called "When the Monkey's Gone"

Money, monkey, what's one letter between friends?  Or fiends.

I like that the google ads are quickly becoming a TWG plaything.  We cant possibly get rid of them now.   ;) ;D

And I haven't gotten one link for frogs.  Sad!

I, however, would much rather have ads for kookaburras.

Are there any frog themed comic-book characters? The only one I can think of is Marvel's Toad.
Title: Re: Messing with Google's head

Toad isn't really a 'super hero' per se is he?

Per se.

And Toad is disgusting, and more of a supervillain. I can't imagine a good superhero from a toad, at least given only the powers that Toad has.

That's Mr. MAN to you

Screen shot: a graphical file of the current appearance of your screen or part of your screen. Easily obtained by pressing PrtScn on your keyboard (or ALT-PrtScn if you wnat just the one window), then opening a graphics program (even Paint) and pasting it. YOu can paste it into Word as well.

Crop: to cut off the portions of an image that are not desired, leaving you only with the important part.

I'm not going to even pretend you don't really know what "upload" means.

His real screen name is SaintEhlers, Ehlers being his last name.  So he's SE, no matter what other cover name he may presume to give himself.   ;)

No, actually, I really like being called Fishy.

As for where the nickname came from, let me find the thread.  One moment please.

Q.Which page?
A.Found it but was only scanning so didn't understand. Would you like to tell me or insult me on a large scale for being a useless newbie?

No offence to you; just to me.

This is really random, but I was playing on the XBox with a DVD of all the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, etc. games and I came across Jeopardy!. So me and my husband played and one of the answers was "fishy." Too bad you weren't there :).

haha. That's funny--and interesting. I always wondered about your nickname, but I never got around to asking. Hmm, makes me wish my nickname had a more amusing explanation. Eh, oh well.

Speaking of fish, though.... My roomie's new boyfriend is vegetarian and lately they keep heating up this dreadful soy fish. Uck! It smells horrible. Okay, okay, I don't like the smell of fish in general. BUT how in the heck did they get a slab of soy to smell like such a horribly ripe piece of fish?? It's unnatural, I tell you, unnatural!

So I wish google would give me some good organic food links so that I don't have to live with a fishy microwave. *sigh*

I think this is the thread you're looking for Fish:

Btw, I love your little fish-shark picture.  Very cute!

Thanks!

That thread is the one where everyone explained their usernames, but it doesn't have the explanation of mine on it.  The thread I posted is the one from where I joined TWG...when I got accused of "stalking" EUOL.

lol, now I remember that!  That was a funny thread to follow cause it was always so random, and everyone was trying to figure out if they knew you.

Hey!! I deny everything, of course. (But, if we're pointing fingers . . . . The real culprit is our pal, the Bot, whose aversion to prawns is related to said substance).

While reading the thread for the new article about working in a gaming store the ads I got were for color contacts and a goth dating site.
How do you think I'd look with red eyes? ;D

Oh, and I thank Eagle Prince's questions about Vampire for the second link.

Goth dating???  Hmm, must have been the keyword "Monster".
