A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. Didn't he say at the Seattle reading (or somewhere) that he wrote 600 words of a Mistborn short story on the plane? Maybe it's something related to that.
George RR Martin fans have convinced him to try his hand at A Song of Ice and Fire, as they figure he can finish the entire series before Martin releases his next book.
As for the Bridge 4 Shirt. We may have to put a couple of versions up online and see what people think. The "Your Mom" shirt has everyone laughing. Another slogan idea would be: I survived Bridge 4

I was under the impression that "Stormfather" was just another name for Jezrien.
Maybe an alloy of Lerasium and Copper lets you hear Preservation/Sazed?
Crazy idea time: no matter what they meant to do with the headless monkey, Kaff [Edit: oops-Karl. Didn't have time for an archive binge. hm] ends up attached to it, and controls it and manages to break free on his own. Just like he said he would.
