(for those of you who don't know me in real life, I'm a blonde.)

I believe that's right.  I never had problems with lay and lie.
I'm in 325 right now, actually, but I have it from Skousen who is a die-hard linguist.  So while he's an excellent teacher it means he'll accept anything that sounds correct in speech.  

(This is from the Addams Family.  They were showing how Gomez and Morticia got married.)

Preacher: "Are you sure you want to marry this man?"
Morticia: "Oh yes!"
Fester: "But you've only known him for a few days."
Morticia: "What better way to get aquainted?"


Actually it's funnier if you live in Utah.

I'm sure the same thing will happen to me someday, Eric.  Both J.T. and I learned to drive stick, then promptly forgot.  

Most of my practice in driving a stick was
1.) a cross-country drive from Ohio to Washington when I was 16.  (And driving on a straight highway at 70 mph isn't hard)

2.) Driving my mom to and from the hospital a few times a year later.  And I pissed off so many drivers by stalling at half the lights.    

Oh well.  You'll get better with practice, Eric.

We just recently talked about Hadrian's Wall in my history class.  

"So he built the wall to keep the Scottish barbarians out."  
"Yeah, 'cause a 4-foot wall is going to keep out a whooooole lot of people.

(I know, it used to be much taller, but the idea of 6-inch Scots amuses me to no end.)

Entropy- that sounds like a good idea;  as long as I can edit it a bit before its posted for the world to read.

HoM, I think that we don't understand ourselves ALL the time, but women definitely understand women better than men do.
I don't think there's any argument on that factor.   I do like the quote though.  How many times have I hated someone's girlfriend just because I knew what she was up to?
