I hate working with stupid people!  My boss refuses to fire someone who has repeatedly proven that they don't have the mental capacity for such a demanding job.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Brandon's publication schedule

I think he said he won't be able to do Stormlight 2 and AMOL in the same year, so Stormlight 2 would be pushed one year. Not sure though, but I know Brandon didn't like the amount of stress Towers of Midnight & The Way of Kings put him in 2010.

That's what I remember him saying as well.  It'll probably be late 2013/early 2014 before we get Stormlight 2

Peter said on FB the other day that it was delayed, but now it's moving forward again.

Given the spelling I thought it was one of the many South American native dialects, but I don't know enough to pinpoint which one.  If you don't know, that's ok.  I was just curious.

I concur.  I raise my mighty fist of doom at spam (both the electronic and the "meat").

I have to agree with all of you.  This guy has no idea what he's talking about and he's overreacting.  Western civilization isn't going to collapse because of a few fantasy sub-genres.  Grim needs to grow a pair.

I just finished reading Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning.  Fantastic!  A bit contrived at the end, but still a fantastic end to the series.  A few (ahem :-*) scenes made my toes curl, and that does not happen very often!

Hey, don't worry about it.  I have a friend that would agree with you 100%.  Her husband and son both have Asperger's.

Having holes in your memory isn't so bad.  I have large gaps in mine from a medication I took as a kid.  But most of my missing memories don't involve loved ones so that might be the difference.

Didn't they get tied up in litigation during pre-production over an accusation of unpaid royalties to the Tolkien estate?

My theory during my first read through was that the boon was having memories of his wife erased and the curse was not hearing others speak of her.  I vaguely remember him being frustrated that he couldn't hear others talk about her.  I tried to find the page just now and couldn't, but it's the part with the fading whisper text.

I admit, that with this theory the curse and the boon are very similar.  It is possible that the latter is a side-effect of the former and that the curse is something else entirely.
