It's raining pretty hard up here in New Hampshire, too.  My dog does not like it.  I just hope it lets up before I have to go in for my OT shift this afternoon.

But at least the rain didn't keep the Sox from slipping past the Yanks last night!

I don't know how cool this is, so much as just plain wrong.  This is what I get for listening to Howard Stern on the way to work.

Eric, I certainly hope that's Jeff's copy...or else flying pigs will soon be at you door!

Not that I can't spare one, I have several copies myself.  And if you count concert recordings, I have close to 30 or so copies of it.

Thanks, EUOL.  I did shave my beard off about a year and a half ago.  My daughter wouldn't come near me.

So, not to bring this back to the original topic or anything, but is anyone seriously thinking of CascadiaCon?

That's me.  The beard started back in college because I got tired of hearing "Oh, you're Mormon and go to school out West.  How do you like BYU?"  That and I'm too lazy to shave.  Now it just sort of fits with the whole living in New Hampshire thing I've got going.

I also wanted to add that it was great meeting all the con goers.  It was a tiring experience, but I had a good time.  I plan on joining NESFA, the con organizers, this year, and getting into the local con scene just for the fun of it.

Site News / Re: Introduce yourself - right on!
« on: September 13, 2004, 10:02:47 PM »
Ok, ok, I guess that means I need to introduce myself.  I am Mike, MikeE, Beardie Mike, Haxen (from AORP), Mehlers, and countless other names.  Beardie Mike was what they called me in my fraternity (with a name like Mike you usually need a modifier to distinguish youself from the 50 other Mikes in the group) and it seemed appropiate so you know which one is me in the con pictures.

I am Eric's older brother.  I graduated from the U of U in Math and Physics and from Franklin Pierce Law Center with a JD and an emphasis in intellectual property law.  I currently work at Fidelity Investmnets where I do nothing whatsoever related to those degrees.  I currently live in New Hampshire, where I am becoming more and more of a Yankee, though I am still a Virginia gentleman at heart.

I am married to a New Hampshire girl who talked me into living up here, a decision I regret every January or so.  We have a 3 year old daughter, a husky, and a rabbit.

General likes: I love to write short stories, tho they don't love me.  I read a lot in a lot of genres, but SF has always been my first love.  And I am very much a grognard-give me a table top war game and you've got me for the evening.
