UVSC Forum on Children's Literature
« on: January 31, 2006, 11:32:27 PM »
I just realized that if we had a group of 3 or more, we could save about $25 (putting us at the SCBWI member price). I just did my taxes and have decided I'm going to go. Chimera, you haven't bought your ticket yet, have you? Who else is interested in going to this?

Argh, of course Chimera is on blackout this week. I just found a really great airfare deal. But perhaps if Southwest's internet special is so good, I can find a better deal elsewhere.... Here's hoping the special lasts till the end of the week.

I just paid my registration, but since I'm a student, I got the mega uber cheap price.

*jealousy*

I remember when I paid $35 or something ridiculously low like that to go, and then I ended up not being able to go to the whole thing because I left for a trip to New York in the middle of the second day. I figured it was worth it, seeing as how I was job hunting and even had an interview at Random House. But still.

Chimera will be paying the student price too.  And I don't know if that conference would be worth the money for me, non-student that I am.  Though you're free to try to convince me otherwise.

Oh my goodness.  Where have you been?  I graduated in April.  You see me every week and you don't know that I'm not in school?

Well see--the thing is that I don't see you in school.  I haven't seen you in school for like a year and a half.  And since I didn't attend your graduation . . .

Oh wait.

April?

That's when I graduated.  I guess I do kind of remember you walking in front of me, seeing as how I was on the front row and all.

What's that over there!?

LOL!  I'll forgive you, but only this once.

No, I'm not in school.  I'm taking a year off and trying to get into grad school, again.  And working part time.  So yeah.   ;D

I know funds are tight, so I won't try to convince you to go to this one.  Save it for WorldCon or World Fantasy.  How did your . . . uh . . . Lost watching go?  Wink wink.

Oh don't even get me started.

Actually, do get me started, but do it in person.  I'm not going to rant about it here.

This is true. And my ticket is already bought. But you will want to get your tickets ASAP because it the prices go up after Feb. 17--this Friday. Here's the link to their website and to the registration info in case anyone needs it. I just registered over the phone, it's the easiest.

Parker, are you going? How about Sally? And what about guitarbabe? I've been gone so long, I don't know who is planning on it, but it would be good if you all got the 3 person discount with Stacer, if you're going.

MsFish, you should come, but I want you to eat, too.  :)

I'm going--already have my ticket and everything.  Since I'm getting my MLS, I'm still a student, so it was cheap-o.  See you there.

Well... I did have the extra money budgeted, but then my cat needed some things, and it kind of went up in smoke. I'll have to look again at it. I think it should still be okay--I've got a check for my freelancing coming soon. In fact, I should think it should have been here by now. I'll call them tomorrow and see what's up.
