Amazon's "Your Store" linkage

Amazon's going wacko, I think. Usually it recommends good books and movies based on what I've already bought from them or that I've rated, but today I get this:

Levi's® 550(tm) Relaxed Fit Jean  
Other products by Levi's
Recommended because you said you owned Serenity (Widescreen Edition)

OXO Good Grips 1057201 Angled Measuring Cup Set
Recommended because you rated A Wrinkle in Time

Wha? Since when did buying Serenity mean I'd be interested in getting jeans? Do they even wear jeans in the movie? And are the measuring cups because Meg's mom or Charles Wallace cooked in A Wrinkle in Time?

I can see Serenity and "relaxed" fit jeans. But A Wrinkle in Time seems like it would go better with an iron or something.

Amazon is just trying to expand your purchases. They are hoping that if they show you something that you absolutely cannot phathom buying from them that you will cave into their advetising scheme and spontaniously purchase it.

It's hard enough to find jeans that fit well when I'm trying them on in the store. Ain't no way I'm ordering them online.  ;)

Indeed. Jeans are not what I'd buy online, that's for sure. Amazon's "cross-referencing" ad engines must be kind of mixed up to suggest jeans because you bought "Serenity." lol

I wouldn't be surprised if the jeans were a paid marketing scheme.  I.E. Levis pays Amazon to link their products with specific keywords.

I think that probably the keyword in this case has somethign to do with "westerns." It's not that unfathomable.
