Wow.
That is very cool.

Whoa. Lucky you.
-
Sweet, that is totally awesome.

Great more praise to swell up his head. ::)
But congratulations anyways. ;)

I think he deserves it! That is so great.

Wowzers. Not a shabby way to start the new year.
-
Hate to burst the bubble, but he bribed them them with Tacos.
-
No one ever bribes me with tacos.

That is so exciting, Brandon. Congrats! It's all building up momentum for when Mistborn comes out. I know that my sister-in-law (who is 18-yrs old) loved Elantris and can't wait for Mistborn to come out (although she was hoping for a sequel because of how much she loved Elantris).

Wow, that's amazing. Think it'll help your chances for a Hugo?
-
/me adds it to the "List of Things that Made me So Jealous I went over the Edge and Killed Brandon and Stole His Identity"
-
Wow...you beat out several big names to get that number one spot. Congrats.

Remember, the Campbell is not a Hugo. I think it's emblazoned on the trophy or something in bright green letters, given the number of times they announced it as Jay tripped up the stairs.

Beyond impressive. Congrats. A question, though--how did you find this? I wanted to see how publicized they were making the list, and I couldn't find it even when I was looking for it. I wish they'd promote it a little better . . . But awesome any way you slice it.

Yeah, Stacy has a point. They announce that phrase like a DOZEN times during the ceremony. If you're asking about an actual Hugo for best novel, I'm guessing my chances are very slim. The thing is, the book hasn't had a wide enough release to gather the kind of publicity I'd need for a Hugo. Even if you all nominate me (which I certainly would appreciate) I doubt it will make a dent in the number of nominations you'd need to even get on the ballot.
As for how I heard of it--I got emailed by Joshua, JJA, and Toby. So, within the community, people know about this.

Nice job buddy, you deserve it.
-
Congrats, Mr. Sanderson. Perhaps this will spur the success you've earned.
