Title: Do Hostess products actually taste good?
Post by: Mad Dr Jeffe on May 29, 2003, 03:07:37 PM
Ok we all know you have a secret hankeing for twinkies, Ding Dongs, hoho's and fruit pies. Aside from the obvious sexual connotations inherent in all hostess products (including muffins) do any of their products actually taste good?

Strawberry Twist Twinkies taste really good. Other than that, though, I'm not sure.

I like the chocolate-based ones, like ding dongs and cupcakes, but I can't handle twinkies or anything else.

I don't know about taste, but hostess is great for binging when you want a sugar high.

You know, the only ones I've ever liked are zingers--and, to be honest, I don't really like those a ton.  But, I've never been a sweets guy.  Twinkies, however, provide an amazing amount of comedic enjoyment.

I think Little Debbie's stuff is good, if not better than Hostess.

I think Little Debbie stuff is better as a whole than Hostess.

Yeah! Little Debbie is where it is at.   I don't go for sweet stuff usually, but when I do I know my friend Deborah has me covered.

I have to agree, Little Debbie's junkfood is significantly more edible than Hostess'. But I do like the chocolate cupcakes with cream in the middle.

I did hear somewhere that twinkies can be used as an economical alternative to jet fuel..

Edit: I have to add that Wal-Mart now sells these little boxed "old fashioned" pies -- chocolate eclair, lemon, apple, and my personal favorite, pumpkin -- that are almost frighteningly good. And they're only $0.50 a piece. I recommend running out right now and buying lots, if you've got a sweet tooth. Or a death wish.. those things are rich.

My dad made a *ton* of ice cream for Memorial Day, I've still got buckets of it. I've been chowing on that. Snack cakes cost too much money. Even when I have a sweet tooth, I usually get ice cream or candy rather than anyone's snack cakes.

But I'll be deviant and state that i like hostess better than lit. Deb.

Sorry, but hostess doesn't make Swiss Rolls or Oatmeal cream pies, the later that seems deceptfully healthy until you look at your expanding waiste-line.

I may be in the minority here, but I just freaking love Moon Pies.  They are the world's most useless food, but boy do they just hit the spot.
