Combat sounds virtually identical to Samurai Swords.

In fact, Fell, if you haven't played it, you might like it as a successful version of Nexus Ops.

Samurai Swords as in the game formerly known as Shogun? The only similarity I see is the combat. Units are gained differently, resource management isn't really a factor, and the board is completely static.

I have played it, and I don't really dig it, though it's one of my dad's favorites. SE is right, though--the two games are very different.

Okay.  I rather enjoy Samurai Swords.

I like Samurai Swords too. Love it. Dominate at it. Not entirely sure I've ever lost a game of it.
But I find some of the other strategy board games, like Attack! to please me more, so I don't make my friends play it much.

Speaking of board games, I yearn for a good game of History of the World. I'll have to do something about that.

I'm generally up for that as well. Too bad I'm not enough up for it to travel 2000 miles for a game.

Yeah, ditto.  I have no idea what that game is like, but it sounds interesting enough.
