That time again, we're planning on October 28th (Saturday).
When: EUOL's House
Where: 7pm, October 28th
What: Watching the MST3k Guys make fun of stuff via Rifttrax and playing games.
Let us know where might be good and what time please. Â Everyone is invited, we'll probably do a standard potluck/BBQ meal.

Last year's Halloween party was huge, and we hope this year will be just as awesome. In terms of Halloween themed games I'm bringing House on the Hill and Horrorclix; Dreamblade, Hecatomb, and Once Upon a Time could be good candidates as well, and of course there's no reason you can't show up and play other games, or no game at all--there will be plenty of eating and watching of movies.
Our biggest obstacle this year is the lack of Earl's huge house. We might be able to use mine, but the kids would make that a bit of a hassle. If you know a good location let us know.
-
EUOL's house will probably be best, especially if people are all doing different things so they can be in different places.
42 also wants to volunteer our place but we have less room then EUOL.
-
Dangit. I already have a costume party I'm going to that day, otherwise I'd want to come.
I have a big house...but I also have a husband who'd be wary of inviting you guys over. No offense, he just doesn't know you. Perhaps sometime I'll convince him to let y'all watch a movie on our home theater. It rocks.
-
Yeah, I'd volunteer my place for the cool home theater, but we just don't have the room. Last year's party was truly impressive, and I hope we can get that kind of turn out again.
-
EUOL has agreed to us volunteering his place.
So probably start around 7pm.
-
I won't be to Utah this year till LTUE, so of course it won't draw the same number of people! :D
I'll be sorry to miss it, actually. It's been nice to be in the neighborhood the last couple of years.
-
Yay! I am so in!
I'll volunteer my place, but there's a lack of table and sitting room. We have the space, just not the furniture. It's open, though.
-
I'm in, tentatively, based on whether I can find a babysitter.
-
you could bring the goblins...
-
Just a reminder, 7pm at EUOL's invite friends too and if there's a TWGer that hasn't been around much on the forum and you see them in person invite them.
When: we start at 7pm people.
Where EUOL's (if you don't know his address PM me and I'm get it to you, but it's in south provo). There's not a lot of close parking around his place so carpool if you can.
Fun: Bring any game you want to play, we're going to have lots of people here hopfully. (I've got a list of people that if everyone shows up we'll have more then 20 people there).
Food: Bring some, Jeff is going to cook a roast and some other stuff so bring snacks, drinks and side dishes. There might be a charge for the roast depending on how much money I spend, but it won't me more then $2-$3 at the most. (and that's only if I spend like $30-$40).
-
Do we really have to hop?
-
yes, fully or you get thrown out.
-
Here's the official menu if anyone is interested.
Roast beef sandwiches with ajue sauce.
food is $2 or $1 if you bring potluck.
-
I demand pictures of the party!!
-
So, how'd it go? Wish I could have made it for a third year in a row, but I have a very, very good excuse. I won't tell you what it is, but it's good. ;)
-
It was a lot of fun. It ran shorter than the last couple of years. There were also more wives and babies there this year.
-
Sorry no pictures were taken Teikel.
Though this was easily one of our most successful Halloween parties, we had (not counting kids) about 26 people there. The movie was great, even Skar would get Top Gun with a Riff Trax a 6/6 clocks (ACT! ACT HARDER!).
-
And if there had been an award for best costume, then Super Nate and I would have won .... by default! Since no one else dressed up.
Cowards.
-
So apparently Nessa thinks plastic bolts superglued to my neck, a dark plaid suit coat that's too small for me, giant clomper boots, and green circles around my eyes are how I normally look.
Great.
-
Hehe. Oops. Selective memory.
-
aside from the bolts glued to your neck I'd say that's pretty much my recollection of how you always look.
-
My only excuse is that it was my first TWG party, and I was completely overwhelmed. In a good way. Â ;)
Before the TWG party I was at a costume party, and my picture was taken there (by someone with very un-stellar photography skills, as she cut off our legs). The stud standing next to me is my husband, Neo.

Yes, I sewed both costumes myself. I'm sure that's hard to believe.
Also, good news. I thought it would take a while to convince said husband to host the next MST3K riff showing on our totally righteous home theatre (http://www.vanessakchristenson.com/ba_thehouse.htm#080806). But the moment I said something about you guys bringing Episode 1 to make fun of it, he was in!
-
I think that's a great picture. Close up enough to see your faces. (Says the semi-professional photographer, so you're good, right? ;) )
And for some reason, Nessa, I thought you were blonde.

And for some reason, Nessa, I thought you were blonde.
Yep. That fact was established a while ago (http://www.timewastersguide.com/boards/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=rantage;action=display;num=1140919441;start=15).
-
*shaking head* I shouldn't have tried to speak yesterday. You know, despite that thread I thought you were *brunette*. It's just funny how our brains persist in thinking something despite knowing better. And yesterday my brain just persisted in not thinking, I suppose. :)
-
Wish I could have made it for a third year in a row, but I have a very, very good excuse. I won't tell you what it is, but it's good. ;)
Well my interest is peaked, I'll tell you what. A date?! Promotion?!
Yes, I sewed both costumes myself. I'm sure that's hard to believe.
Riiight. This from the woman who made me *the* most stunning mistcloak. Pfft.
Nessa, you and your dh look spectacular!
I only wish there were pics of Skar-kenstein, too.
-
Sorry to have *piqued* your interest, because it was actually a false alarm. I think. Oh, I don't know. It was a good evening that wasn't even a date, just a bunch of friends hanging out, but that will be unlikely to lead to anything as far as I can tell.
-
Piqued, yeah. You know, that's the word I had written in the first place; then I second guessed myself. Not my fault, though--blame it on my nasty head cold (thank you, Gemm) or on the ninja monkeys. They're always good for a blaming or two.
Anyway, too bad about the possible date devolving into just "hanging out" instead. :( Perhaps he ought to read the Ensign more often. ;)
-
No, it's not that. I'm not going to get into it in public, but if you want to know privately you can add me on MSN (I'm pretty sure you have my email, right?). If not, get it from Eric.
