I had a thought about the two new allomantic metals on the poster, Cadmium and Cerrobend. Would using Cadmium, in essence, allow you to move faster than other people in a similar manner to a Feruchemist who is tapping their Speed? Likewise, would Cerrobend make you move slower than everyone else as time would pass more quickly for you? If I understood this right, it would suck to be a Cerrobend Misting in a battle (although it would be handy to use while waiting for AMoL to come out!)
No, i dont think so, a cerrobent misting would probably move the same speed, but everyone else in the bubble would move slower, enabling the misting to defeat his nearby enemies with ease. Cadmium, however, might allow you to move faster, along with other mistings/allies in the bubble, giving a boost to them as well as yourself. They could be countered by each other, if the bubbles "overlap", making everything in the overlapped space move normally.
And i would use cadmium while waiting for AMoL, i havent read the rest of the books.

to quote Johnny Depp, "Now you're not making any sense at all." Why would cerrobend only make the other people inside the bubble move slower, but not the person burning, while cadmium would affect everyone? It doesn't add up. No offense, but I think my theory makes more sense.

Hmm... good question. I will answer your question with another question: aren't the metals supposed to be beneficial to the user? If so, then why would a metal make you weaker? I suppose, if you want the effects to match, cadmium could make anyone else in the bubble faster, but then how would that be benifical in travel, like pewter, since the allomancer cannot move as fast, and the other people would exit the bubble, or not be able to go as fast as possible. Wow, that was probably zetta confusing (been playing The World Ends With You xd ;D) .

I haven't even considered playing a MUD. Before I looked at this thread, i didn't know they were called MUDs. And I can kind of tell you are a WoT fan just by your picture, nass

Yeowch. I wouldn't want to be there. Well, it looks like wilson is finally healed, Cooku is going down the path of hermitism, and Ben is now disturbing... (not much of a change  ;D). Unfortunately, I'm probably going to get fleas soon. These stupid titles  >:(.

I'm currently reading The Eye of the World, partly because Jordan chose Sanderson to finish the series.

I really hate to quibble, but actually Jordan never met Sanderson. It believe it was his wife that choose Sanderson to take up the mantle.
okay, well, you get my point, he's still finishing the series

Cool! I already read the whole series  :). I'm currently reading The Eye of the World, partly because Jordan chose Sanderson to finish the series. I liked the first book in the Codex Alera series, and I want to read Academ's Fury (it's the next book, right?), but i got Shogun, Watership Down and To Kill a Mockingbird for Christmas, so it will be a while before i'll go to the bookstore again  ;D.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: If Mistborn was a movie. . . .

i dont know... Morgan Freeman could pull off TLR, but he might be too old (remember, most of the time TLR is on-screen he is pretty young), and it would give it away if all Terrismen were played by black people. I think that we could fit Hugh Laurie into the cast... might have the personality for Clubs, even though i imagined him shorter and older. Vin would need to have short hair, in my mind, and I wouldn't have Elend be too "dreamy" in the first one, more bookish. Umm... the guy who plays Adam Shore in Boston Legal could play Dox, i always imagined him as kind of boring looking. Remember some of Brandon's descriptions though, he has said that Kelsier has curly hair, i think. Kelsier/Marsh and Elend/Zane need to look alike, as well. Well, i'm finally through with unraveling nearly every idea in this thread.

So there really is no difference between a "yule log" and a regular old peice of wood, right? It's just a log that you burn to celebrate Christmas/holidays? And i agree with 42 about the presents, my family is religious too, but we give each other quite a few gifts, not to mention my aunts/uncles

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Thoughts after finishing Elantris *Spoilers*

Hmm, its been a while since i read the book, but i'm guessing that the Wyrn allowed Hrathen 3 months to try and convert them. However, he also knew that the king wouldn't convert, so they had a plan b: killing everybody.

Probably true, but even a recovering helpworker can be useful. They're still a helpworker afterall. I'm feeling kind of useless, because there are no titled scribes in the coalition.

sorry...  :'(. Anyway, it was amazing that the person thought that tomatos would just magically transform into watermelons. They don't even know what the theory of evolution is, probably.

Technically, they weren't off topic, just explaining why they hated the movies. As for Bolt, my Aunt/Uncle/Cousin saw it before Thanksgiving. Apparently, it was pretty good. Although, i make it a habit to not watch anything that involves Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Personally, i think the HSM (High School Musical) movies were the worst movies ever made. I havent seen any of the movies posted (besides some Disney sequels).

hmm... i see your point. And, kind of getting back on track, how come Dount Cooku gets to be an overlord at level 3 while im a lowly errand runner! And for scribes no less! (hey, at least there are no scribes in the coalition to speak of)
