First time i ever played was D'n'D I was a Barbadian all I remember. I seem to remember playing the street fighter rpg too... huh.
A lot of people describe Scalzi’s Old Man's War novels as military science fiction, but I would classify its sequel Zoë’s Tale as a space opera. It’s a story about, well, Zoë, a teenage girl whose parents are invited to take leadership roles in building a colony on a new planet. Zoë is an enthusiastic member of the group sent to colonize Roanoke, despite the risks—and the risks are considerable even before the political machinations of greater powers boil to the surface. we wrapped a guy up in tin foil and put him on the paint float ostensibly to test our ships radar... would have been the best prank ever if the float hadn't gotten underway and floated down the Elizabeth river... course we got him 20 minutes later after the small boat started up.
not really nerdy but good times.
Oh and people still fall for the shoreline joke.. who'dof thunk.
