Title: Startup programs
Post by: Archon on October 09, 2006, 11:42:09 PM
Hey, I have a couple of programs that start up every time I get on my computer. Does anyone know how I can keep them from automatically starting up every time I boot up without deleting them from my computer?

Crap, There's a command line you can run that brings up a dialog box to do just this but I can't remember it right now.  I'm sure SE knows it but if not I'll bring it up with IT at my work tomorrow if I haven't remembered by then.

Also, you can check the startup folder in your start menu, sometimes things are in there.  Also most programs should have an options in their settings/options window to do this as well.

click start
click run
type msconfig
click ok
go to the Startup tab
unclick most of what's there.

either leave checked or research any files that you don't recognize. a quick google will return sufficient results to educate you on what you need.

no problem. It is, apparently, what I'm good for. It's why my wife keeps me, anyway.
