I'm not sure if this is a new species of geek like this article claims or merely a result of the economic demand for more multi-disciplinary individuals.
-
I don't have a business degree, but I'm that renaissance geek. I get employed because I know computers and I know writing/publishing. the computer science "Degree" is not a requirement as far as I'm concerned. Experience counts for a heckuva lot more in the practical world
-
I thought renaissance geeks wore doublets, funny boots and or/ corsets with lots of cleavage while speaking in faux elizibethan accents and eating chili dogs at the local SCA meeting.
-
I use to think that a renaissance geek was what you discribed, Jeffe, but apparently, it is E.
-
Who said that both weren't true?
-
The laws of nature. That's who.
-
now you're just making crap up.
/me shows off his cleavage in his new bodice.
-
...Wow!! YOu leave for a week or so, and next thing happenin, is E is showing off his bodice.
Well
...whatever.
-
Somethings I didn't want to read. E, does your wife know about your bodice? It just doesn't sound like something that she would approve of.
-
Nah, I'm sure they share clothes all the time.
-
She wears my shirts. Why can't I wear her bodices?
-
You don't also happen to wear her pants do you?
That is a kinda scary though.
-
You don't also happen to wear her pants do you?
Now come on, we know who wears the pants in that relationship.
-
Yeah. Me.
-
I think I'm a new breed of geek... what do you call someone who exhibits most manner of geeky tendencies(videogames, comics, accounting liscence at 17) but who also expresses jock tendencies(track, baseball, martial arts) and then expresses intelectual tendencies(reads unassigned books, studies unassigned subjects) and lastly expresses popular tendencies(Weekends in LA, nightclubs, social events)...what in gods name am I!?
-
That's the thing, being a geek isn't a condition, it's a quality. Everybody has varying levels of everything, including geek-i-tude.

"If everyone's a little queer, why can't she be a little straight?"
