The next Win OS is going to have something that users or admins can set that lowers their browser's rights, or privileges, so malicious programs cannot install themselves via IE or other Browsers because the browsers loose the rights to be able to install programs. I stumbled upon this program written last year by someone at Microsoft that lets you do the same thing with win XP and server 2003 to an extent.
Most of you may not have much use for the program but those that run their PCs in admin mode or work it for a company might find it useful.

So, if I'm the only user of my laptop--which I am--I think I run it in admin mode by default. This would be something I should look into getting, then, yes?

Ya you probably would.
The page also includes several tips on how to not run as and admin effectively and how to install this program, it's written by one of Microsoft's security people, though it won't run on anything less then win xp SP2.
