Title: Cereal
Post by: Faster Master St. Pastor on December 01, 2005, 08:57:07 PM
Okay, so this is kinda a random thought I had today but here it goes: what is everyone's favorite cereal brand?

I'll start, mine is Rice Chex.

I keep changing favorites, I'll have one, eat it for a month or so, but after that I'll be sick of it and vomit whenever it's mentioned.

Hmm. That sounds like a problem, so currently what is your favorite?

Actually, it's not that bad, By the time I have nothing left, my discust for the first ones has worn off and I can just repeat the cycle.

actually, right now I'm having toast for breakfasts (non-cereal breakfasts work the same way as cereals)

This thread makes me laugh because I just ate cereal for dinner. So easy, you know, and I thought to myself, "Huh, I really love Life. I think it's my favorite.  Well, Cinnamon Life, anyway. The plain kind is kinda, um, plain."

Yeah, Life has to be a close runner up for me, as are Cherrios, my sister thinks they taste like cardboard though.

I'm not a huge fan of cereal--never have been. But whenever we go on a family vacation and we're supposed to pick out our favorite cereal I always get Golden Grahams.

Mine is "Frosted Plucky Arms, they're magically disgusting!"

I miss Tiny Toons.

1. Fruity Pebbles - it makes the milk soooo tasty!

2. Super-soggy Cap'n Crunch - I love it when the sweet little morsels are absolutely soaked with milk.  Delicious!

3. Honey Nut Cheerios - Mmmmmm...honey

I prefer Corn Chex to Rice Chex

My favorite is probably Oatmeal Raisen Crisp, what with it's raisen nuts and all.

But since that's expensive I usually just eat whatever maltomeal flavor catches my wife's eye that month.

Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Almond Raisin. The best cereal ever.

To my extreme dismay, it was discontinued in 1997, and there is not a SINGLE alternative I have ever found ANYWHERE that is a flake cereal that does not have some form of sugar (the favorite health food store cereal sugar nowadays is "evaporated cane juice"--can't they just make something with no sweetener at all???? Arrgh!!!)!

The current cereal I eat is a little puffed wheat, a little shredded wheat, some raisins, and (generic) grape nuts. It is pretty tasty, but nothing like Nutri-Grain. Currse them! (You'd think maybe Grape Nuts Flakes would have no sugar added, but nooooo.)

(Last I heard there was still a form of Nutri-Grain in Australia, but with brown sugar. *sigh*)

1. Quaker Oat Squares
2. Life (regular, not cinnamon)
3. Blueberry Muffin Tops

My very favortist is Raisin Nut Bran. It has those really soft raisins coated with nut mixture, bran flakes, and almond slivers. It's the bestest ever. It's what I choose when money is no matter (which is hardly ever--only when my parents are paying!).

It wouldn't have to take him very long, all he'd have to do is type raisin bran, copy it, and paste it ten times, and copy that and paste it ten times, and Presto! 100 raisin brans in a minute.

Yes, but if you read carefully you'll notice that he inserted the random word, leading me to believe that he hand typed it.
Title: Re: Cereal

I think he hand typed it too, not because of that, but because if he had done it my way he could have done loads more. My last post was just how he could have done it without taking very long

I typed it using the method described by lightning except between a few of the copy and pastes I typed the random word.  Total time elapsed?  Approximately 15 seconds. But if you were using my method, why did you have so few? (especially since you can just copy it again after about 20 times and start pasting agian, except with 20 each paste rather then 1).

edit: Never, mind, I just found out about how there's a maximum length for posts.

So... cutting and pasting is tons of fun! I wonder who invented that capability.
Anyhow, eating cereal is even more fun. Except, I tried that new "golden graham" Life cereal and didn't like it too much. I thought it was worth a try since cinnamon Life is the best stuff. Eh, oh well.

For some reason Golden Grames make me sick. Literaly. The last time I ate them I nearly threw up.

I didn't think I liked them at first either, but I realized later that I was craving them. I think they just take a little getting used to, then they're good.

So, I must be the only person here who likes the hot variety of cereal. My favorite is maple oatmeal. I also like Oreo O's except that they hurt my mouth.
Title: Re: Cereal
Post by: Shrain on December 07, 2005, 10:47:15 AM
Yeah, I have the same problem with Apple Jacks. They're so tasty but they scratch up your mouth, which just isn't pleasant at all. :P Can't they give us apple-cinnamon goodness without the sharp little knobby things on the Os?
Title: Re: Cereal

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal.

Actually, hot oatmeal with cinnamon then topped with vanilla icecream is one of my favorites, though it takes away some of the nutritional benefits, and it's not really a breakfast item.

Yeah, they can! Just wait about fifteen minutes after pouring the milk. The sharpness will be all gone then.  :P

Who wants to wait 15 minutes for a cereal?

Maybe two minutes is ok (to put my Vanilla Creme Frosted Mini Wheats in the microwave), but that's about it. Most cereals get horribly mushy after that.

Title: Re: Cereal
Post by: scAri on December 07, 2005, 09:58:08 PM
Haha, that was the point. If they're mushy, they're no longer sharp.
Title: Re: Cereal

And putting cereal in the microwave makes it mushy much quicker.  ;D

Microwaving cereal is clearly a concept that I don't pretend to understand.

EUOL isn't much of a cereal person but when he does eat it he put water on it instead of milk.

Maybe he doesn't have a sense of smell, and therefore can't taste the difference between milk and water, and apparently salt and sugar.

What's it with people who serve Korean-speaking missions?  My brother eats some funny stuff, too.

At any rate, I like fancy granolas, cinnamon life, and most sugar cereals (favourites when I was a kid included cap'n crunch, PB cap'n crunch, corn puffs, frosted mini wheats, etc.)

Back to the original topic, I tend to cycle through the generic equivalents of Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, and Frosted Mini-Wheats.

Edited to add: I tried Content Deleted, but it just wasn't satisfying.
