Hey, who all will be stopping by? Looks like all books will be 25% off, and there will be prizes, music, and food.

I know that HoM will be around. He's giving a lecture at 2:00 (according to that article.)
Fireme, are you doing anything?
I'll be there from 1-3, doing signings. (My first ever.)
-
EUOL and Chris Crowe, signing in the same store? I am so there.
BTW--EUOL, your name isn't on the schedule online--you're sure you're there?
-
Yes, I'm sure.
-
I'll be there. There's nothing I love more than a lecture from Mustard.
-
You should make sure that they put you on the online schedule.
-
Um...I can't tell from the article. Is this free, or does it cost anything?
-
I'll bet there's no cost.
And, check your email, Miss Kirby.
-
Checked and replied, Master Sanderson. :)
-
Master Sanderson? Did he actually submit his thesis now?
-
No. I guess I should reserve that title until then, huh?
It's just that whenever he addresses me all formally, like "Miss Kirby," I always reply in a similarly stuffy manner with "Master Sanderson."
But you're right--he doesn't have his Masters. And he isn't British. So "Mister" is more appropriate--I'll revert to that. :)
-
I don't know--you could always call him Bachelor Sanderson. ;)
-
lol! ;D
-
Or "Farm Boy."
-
OR Lake Titicaka. That's a popular one with the young folks nowadays.
-
Hmm...well, if everybody's doing it. Lake Titicaka seems like an appropriate term of endearment for EUOL. :P
Actually, I have a nickname for EUOL that amuses me greatly and irritates him to no end. I am not at liberty to disclose this nickname, though. The repercussions would not be to me liking.
-
Just saw this. Nope, I will not be there, I didn't even know it was happening. I'm sure my invitation to the event was lost in the mail... :)

How'd it go?
-
Well Ethan, Fell's son, called a cutout of Han Solo "Chewbaca" if that means anything to you.
-
Hey Brandon, who's that cute girl you're with? She's quite a catch! ;) ;D ;)
-
AND they're in the Romance section. How cute!
speaking of star wars "errors"
My kids watched Episode I last night. Most of the way through (Elizabeth found any conversation parts "boring" while Sarah found the conversation between Anakin and Padme in the shop "Scary" and they both were terrified of Maul).
Rachael, throughout the last half hour, kept clapping and declaring in a loud voice "Jar Jar did it!"
So now you all know the real hero of the Battle of Naboo.

Who is that in the background that Rob is trying to woo?
-
Sell any books?
-
I always had a crush on Chris Crowe. So now I guess I'm dating him. ;D J/k
Chris Crowe bought one of EUOL's books, even though he is known to not really enjoy fantasy. He will read it (he was the one who suggested Diana Wynne Jones to me when he found out I liked fantasy) and he is one of the BYU English professors who isn't totally against people writing fantasy in his classes. However, it is not his first choice. So when EUOL told me Chris had bought his book, I immediately asked, "Is he going to read it?" The funny thing was that Parker asked the exact same question when EUOL told him about Chris's purchase a couple minutes later. Good ol' Chris. He really is one of my favorite professors at BYU, and a great guy.
But I think I'll stick with EUOL. ;)

Isn't that Ben aka Tage?
I don't think Rob should try to woo Ben.

Speaking of seeing local Utah authors, I just saw Rick Walton the last couple days at ALA here. He says he knows you, Chimera. And to be on topic for EUOL's books, I just told four people at our staff dinner about it that hadn't heard of it before, including two librarians and a PR guy. They wrote it down, so hopefully they'll look it up. I can't remember why it even came up in conversation--I think I had just been talking with them about BYU or something. Not to make this an ALA report in a random post, but our PR agency person knows Chris from contacting him at TLE for Wizards. Small world.
-
Thanks, Stacer!
And, in respose to an earlier question, I sold seven books (that I know of.)

Rick's great. He's a published author who is always trying to encourage new writers. I took his picture book class at BYU about a year and a half ago, and he always says "hi" to me at conferences and asks how I am doing. He also started up a local discussion/critique group focusing solely on picture books that I am in now, but during the summer we are only meeting sporadically.

I gave the first picture a "5" because I'm in it and I always make the picture better. ;D 8)

Insert sarcastic remark here.
