Title: Hey, EUOL!
Post by: The Jade Knight on November 25, 2005, 03:29:09 AM
So I was in a psychology experiment today (yesterday) to make a little extra cash, and I noticed the experimenter reading Brooks, so I pitched your novel to him, got him to write it down and everything.

He seems to be a solid Fantasy reader, so hopefully you'll have one more fan now.  =]

Let me guess...the psychology experiment involved a guy sitting there reading a book while pretending to pay attention to you?

I don't know that he was pretending, even.  =รพ

It involved me clicking a mouse for hours on end.  My right wrist hurts now.

You'd think that psychology experiments would be a place you can safely avoid carpal tunnel...

You'd think.  Unfortunately, the "yes/no" mechanism involved lots of clicking with the mouse.  And it was a long experiment.

Well, thanks!

Word of mouth is very important for book sales, especially for launching a new author like me.  So, every recommendation you make is very much appreciated.

Your psychological experiment sounds an awful lot like World of Warcraft.

Which would be a highly amusing experiment. Not as amusing as throwing people into a cyberpunk RPG and analysising them based on how their characters act.

I would laugh if the experiment actually had nothing to do with what you did with the mouse, but your response to something else.  Carpal tunnel for nothing--well, I guess scientific understanding isn't nothing, but you get my drift.  :)

Actually, it had something to do with memory consolidation, I think.

Than how do you know what is was for if you only think. I am gonna have to agree with it being a Comp game. Not spcifically World of Warcraft, but somwhere along the lines of that.
