Brandon Sanderson / Re: New MB 1?
« on: November 05, 2007, 11:33:19 PM »
I thought this had been announced. I'm not sure on the details, you'll have to wait for Brandon to give you those, but yes, Tor will be re-releasing MB1 paperback with a (hopefully) non-craptastic cover. I don't believe the artist has been decided yet, but it's *not* the original MB artist.

And Peter, I don't believe this is pre-empting a hardback slot.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Brandon interviewed by Sci-Fi WIRE
« on: October 29, 2007, 11:43:45 PM »
Sorry, Stacer, but I just had to edit your title for you. The thought of Brandon being interviewed by Wired was way too exciting, and I don't want anyone else to have to face that kind of disappointment.

Still, yay interviews!

xkcd wins again. This one's a few days old but it's funny every time I read it. In fact, I'm very tempted to actually start doing this:

I watched the opening episode of Chuck and thought it was mildly amusing, but not enough to keep up with it. The parody elements are really funny, and while I love Adam Baldwin, I hate his character. The rest of it, well... they try to hit too many elements for me. Geek culture, conspiracy theories, big action, hot babes, etc. Too many cooks with spoons in that soup.

Movies and TV / Re: Heroes: Season 2 Spoilers

I was very happy when Peter started gaining back his powers very quickly. As previously mentioned, I hate amnesia stories, so I hope it doesn't last long. And I also loved the end with Bennet and the Haitian.

Flying boy doesn't bug me as much, I'm just hoping that little story *goes* somewhere soon. And I'm sad to say that I'm totally not enjoying Hiro's story, because I love Hiro and want to care about what he's doing. But the whole ancient Japan thing... just not doing it for me.

The creators stated very clearly that Sylar would be a part of the second season. Now, as for what part he'll play, that's anyone's guess.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Hoid??
« on: September 12, 2007, 01:08:23 AM »
As an unaffiliated party with insider information, I will go ahead and confirm that there has been someone named Hoid in all three of Brandon's three published fantasy novels through Tor.

Now, as for why and what that means, I'll leave that up for public speculation.
