I've got something super awesome too. Emerson backed down on trying to "cancel" my internship and thereby make me lose my scholarship. Oh, and if I had to withdraw from the credits, they wouldn't refund my tuition money, either. That meant I'd lose over $7K if they decided to make me pay for their mistake.
All this trauma over a stupid policy that they failed to tell me or even put in writing (namely, although an intern can be paid, "student interns cannot complete a credit-bearing internship with an organization that is their employer.") Heck, my intern coordinator didn't even know this. Yet he *did* know I was working at A&B and counting it as credit.
What bothers me is that Career Services did this "cry wolf" thing where they said it was a legal issue, a liability for Emerson if I was an employee where I interned. And yet, when I finally talked to the dept chair, he said he had received "new information" and legal wouldn't be involved because it's an "academic issue." Yeah, and a dumb one at that. Anyhow, the legal talk was just a smokescreen. grrrr.
But no matter. I have won! Yay, the terror has ended!
