What is Rifts Ultimate Edition? In a nutshell: everything rewritten, reorganized, updated and improved by the original writer and creator, Kevin Siembieda. And we've gotten plenty of fan/player input we're incorporating.

ya I saw that.  It looks good though my favoite RIFTS corebook cover is the Special edition Hardback (black with a silver logo for those that don't know).  I'm looking forward to this book.

I'm very excited for Ultimate Rifts as well--I think some of the tweaks to the rule system in recent books, like Splicers and Beyond the Supernatural, will be a great fit for Rifts.

There's a pic of the final cover for the hardback edition, I wish there was a "silver" edtion like when they did the original hardback for RIFTS since I like the hardback's simplist cover better but don't want to shell out $70.

If you get a hard back edition I will hate you.

But wow some of this stuff is a long time comming.

Penalties for low attributes.
Skill Penalties.
Skill clarifications (Field Armorer rules for souping up vehicles and such).
Rule clarifications.
Weapon & Combat clarifications (BTS-2 approach).
The layout has been redone with rules and skills in the back of the book.

I special ordered mine so I hopefully shouldn't have to worry about grasping at nothing.
