Well, they weren't bashing her.  They were saying that she delivers much more than she did in Star Wars and that seems like a good point to compare her to since everyone saw those.

Not everyone.

But I did watch her with Jon Stewart the other night and she was amazing.

Movies and TV / Re: Why Lawyers don't watch "Law & Order" or "CSI"

The completely unbelievable thing about CSI (aside from every test they ever need being ready in a matter of hours - if not minutes) is that the lab tech guys solve the crimes! They interview the witnesses and follow up on the leads. Why do the police departments even bother with detectives when they can just have lab guys do everything.

Not so with Law & Order. Lenny Briscoe can't even run fast enough to catch the punks - but he has a wisecrack for every situation. I don't watch L & O for Jack McCoy and his questionable ethics. I watch Lenny try and catch his breath again. That's real police work.

Some of those show suggestions are pretty funny, but that's pretty much how I look at all shows in the law genre. I can't watch Law & Order at all.

Can't watch Law & Order at all?
Can't watch Law & Order at all?

Who spawned you?

Well, hooray.  The book is done, and sent off to Covenant via the glory of the world wide web.  I can't tell you how happy I am to have this stupid thing finished.  It'll be a long time before I try writing a sequel again...

That was written eight months ago!!
Haven't you written 2 sequels since then? Or the same sequel twice?  :o

Well, it took an hour and a half at the stupid Social Security office, but I got Sammy a SS# -- and then I did my taxes and got the biggest return I've ever had!!  I love America!

Don't you owe me money?

Fell's dream is to open a restaurant where everything would be wrapped in bacon. Even the bacon.

My kids all took me to the Pampas Argentine Steakhouse for my birthday this week and he's right - the food is incredible! Now I'm trying to talk my brother into taking me there. He went to Argentina on his mission and is very into the food.
Everyone should go - and get somebody else to pay :D

My children say that I should mention my irrational aversion to curry. It is true that I will not allow a pot of curry cooking in my house and that my husband and children love for me to leave town so that he can cook up a huge pot of curry and invite the kids over for a curry-fest. But this is not irrational - it is correct!!!  Curry smells like pigs. If you don't believe me go to the Utah State Fair and just try to walk through the pig barn! You can't! Curry and pigs smell exactly the same and it is not a scent that should be eaten by anyone. Therefore, it is not irrational to detest the smell, nay reek, of curry in my home.

Wrong?!? I have been doing this much longer than you, and obviously know what the "real" colors are. I had to drop out of the Synesthesia network because they kept insisting they knew what the colors wereand it made my blood boil. Do you know that about 75% of synesthetes see the same colors? I am proud to be both different AND correct.

Anything with cloves in it.

When our children were young they had to learn cooking early. One time, when Fell was 8 it was his turn to cook dinner and we had splurged on some jumbo shrimp for scampi. The recipe called for a few cloves of garlic and when he asked us about that, we told him to use the powdered stuff in the spice cupboard. Of course, we meant powdered garlic. He used powdered cloves! It was so strong and pungent and horrible! I haven't been able to eat anything with a suggestion of cloves since.

His father, however, in a display of fatherly love unrivaled anywhere, gamely ate his portion and asked for seconds.

At last! A little respect! All I get from my family is ridicule and derision - but I have always suspected it stemmed from jealousy.

Thanks - I'll vote 6. I knew there was an answer out there. Although the word "Bart" is a rough matte lavendar and the word "six" is a slight gloss red. So I don't know...

You need a write-in response for this poll. I rolled the die that is next to my computer - the first time it came up Krusty, the second time Mr Burns and the third, Bart. I don't know what answer to pick!
