Special place in...
« on: June 09, 2006, 01:14:12 PM »
hell reserved for people that decide to run LOUD yard machinery at 6 in the morning on a Friday!  Yes...my neighbor is trying to make us all hate him.  Usually he waits to pull this crap at about 7 on a Saturday, but today he got up extra early just to till his yard.  And, since I am mean, I called the police.  Yes, that's me...the fussy single woman who wants to sleep until her alarm goes off at 7, thank you very much.  Being scared out of bed by the sound of attacking rototillers is NOT my idea of a way to start a Friday!

Grump.

I'm sorry JenaRey. Hopefully, your Friday and your neighbor can be redeemed somehow.

I am SO glad you called the police. Thank you for letting people know they shouldn't be doing that crap.

My apartment building's maintenance crew does that at 6:30-7am, too. Since I don't want to wake up until at *least* 7:30, if that, it makes me very, very, very mad. And exhausted. It's bad enough I can't get enough sleep due to my allergies and my cats (who meow at unearthly hours, wanting me to wake up). But it's not like it's 80 degrees at noon around here--he really could wait till 9 or 10 am to do that sort of thing.

Well, I don't know where Jena is, but right now in Orem, it's 66 degrees, at noon, so that's not even an excuse. Poor Jena!

I don't even have kids and I agree with Mustard.  I'm sure the cops had more important things them make sure you get an extra hour of sleep in the morning.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

I *do* have kids and I disagree with Mustard. Any idiot who is using power tools on his lawn at 6am deserves a jail sentence.

I'm sure that the cops did have better things to do. Like.. I dunno. entrapping all those dangerous drivers going 8 miles over the speed limit!

I'm with Jena and SE. Big surprise, I know. ;)

But hey, the cops should have the time because that early in the morning everyone is ASLEEP! Even criminals are too lazy to be up that early.

or that late...

hey for a first time offense I can get behind mustard, but if the guy is doing it every weekend... come on, he realizes how loud it is and most jurisdictions (like mine) have laws about loud noises or costruction before 7:00 am.

He called down the thunder and it brought its pal lightning to burn him.

If it's before 8 a.m. in most cities, running loud machinery in a residential area is considered disturbing the peace. It probably wouldn't hurt to check with your local authorities.

I know the feeling.

I just wrote a letter to my boss asking for the dismissal of one of the new hires. If he doesn't fire her, then I've decided I'm quitting.

I just can't understand someone who starts a new job and after two weeks feels that they can order around the existing staff as though she were suddenly promoted to being our boss while shirking on her own duties. The egos of some people...
