Firefly lasted seven seasons

Really, you had me at Stephenie Meyer (or the lack of), but this....Where do I sign up to get there? I already love this place.

Well. Actually, I need one more piece of information to confirm my love for it. How many seasons of Dollhouse are there?

Haha. I knew you'd know I was referring to you. :P

Also, excuses, excuses. Although Brandon does seem rather willing, so I can't really blame you, but...even with the willingness, my oversensitive conscience gets the better of me. It's lame. I should purge myself of this burden, so I can tackle the finer forms stalking in all its shady glory.

Twilight's real?  ???

...I thought it was just a urban legend

Oh, I rather like this world you live on. I want to join you....in a totally non-creeper sense.  :P

Do many people here actually know his real name?

I know I don't....But that's okay. I'm trying to tone down my whole 'stalking Brandon' deal anyway...Not that it was ever as bad as some people on here...But I'm not naming names. *looks at two certain individuals*

Kendra, this is accurate.  However, it is apparently not as direct of a lift this time.

Like instead of Szeth it's Seth? (I'm not saying that's what it is, I'm just using it as an example...)

On Facebook he posted the firstborn's name as Joel.

Yeah. Joel is a main character in one his books. So our speculations have been pretty much about that he's naming his children after characters in his books. The second child's name, based on Peter's comment, probably comes from WoK. But I'm not sure. That's just a guess.

Books / Re: Fantasy girls, where are you?
« on: January 27, 2010, 08:49:52 PM »
Fantasy with good female leads....I haven't read a whole lot of those, and what I have found has mostly been mentioned. Like Elantris, Warbreaker, and the Tiffany Aching Adventures by Pratchett. The other stuff I can think of have been in teen fiction.

First one that pops into my head is the Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray. There're 4 main girls and all are very well-developed and the story is excellent. Victorian England. Gotta love it. The first is called A Great and Terrible Beauty.

And the second one is the Mortal Instruments Trilogy by Cassandra Clare. The female lead isn't quite as well-developed, but she's cool enough and the story is pretty good too. Urban Fantasy.

And if you're okay to deviate a little from fantasy into science fiction, I highly recommend Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. That female lead is awesome. I love her.

To be noted: All three of these, with the possible exception of Uglies, are tailored toward girls. Not that it's total chick-lit, but it kind of is.

Brandon Sanderson / Re: Y.A.S.P... (Also known as Scribbler)

So. About this Scribbler duel. Bad news, at least for me. I found out tonight that my family is going on vacation to SoCal August 15-22. Which means that I won't be able to be a ref, or meet you cool people then (assuming that doesn't happen sometime before it, like LTUE), and going to my first release party. And I was really looking forward to all of that. I am very sad.

That, or just say that you can't impeach them and they get a year to be the tyrannical dictator. That could be fun too.

I thought this was kind of assumed, but apparently not. Oh well. There's still a small chance sort and i will regain our respective positions. As Irony and Discord.....

Yes. Those were the names we'd created for ourselves, and the respective powers to go along with them. But we hadn't even used the powers, so I don't see what the real fuss is about. We just wanted to lay down clues to our names and see who the astute person would be that figured them out, but apparently no one wanted to be astute. They just wanted to impeach us....Very disheartening, let me tell you.

....and failing.....

This is key. One must not forget the fact that despite his attempts, he fails. Sure, he may gain power for short bursts of time, but he ALWAYS loses it.

I think I made it to the third, and then my mom (fortunately) called me in for dinner....I think.

I read the first two pages. I was just curious to see if it got any better (read: less confusing). Not really. That first paragraph is REALLY bad. And has this person NEVER heard of the phrase 'show, don't tell'? Apparently not....And the comparisons. Ugh.

After that, I kind of want to go find Gamer Girl somewhere online and get further into it, even with the pink unicorns and totally-kissable Chad and all that (yes. I listened to far more of that person reading it on youtube than I should've....don't judge me).

I can think of at least one "night burglar/small time crook" that took down a tyrannous god-king.

haha. I believe he was an exception to the rule. Most aren't that adept. And for some reason I just doubt that Kaz is up at Kell's level (or Vin's).

I think he's referring to the real name.

Also, that's an interesting tradition. I can think of plenty of people in the same profession who wouldn't be able to do it...Well. Technically they could--it's just whether or not they should. Names are getting crazy enough as it is....
