But then Gemm would meet you, JP. And that would cause a large rock to fall on a schoolbus.

/me considers

I think Gemm should go to Aussie land after all...

Ok then. Would from the 5th of March to the 9th of March be good enough? Instead of until the 12th. That's 5 days/nights. Seems reasonable. And don't worry about boring. I'd just like to get away and see new places, you know. Plus if something there can inspire HomSAR to write and get two books published (so far) maybe thee's something there for me. You know?

Heh. You need cheaper tickets. It will cost me 600 quid to fly to japan and back.

ya but that's over a grand here, which is kind of expensive for a round trip to Japan (adverage is $700 from LA to Tokyo if you buy in advance).  Though there is the riseing cost of fuel and other things that might be affecting the price.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

And because I'm coming out of Buffalo so it's not exactly one way for me. So, there's some flight exchanges in there as well.

Oh, I know Gemm, my statement was direceted at Entropy.  Funny thing is, it can be more expensive to fly from NY to CA then from CA to Japan depending on the time of the year.

Britains further away from japan than america is :)

Oh and 600 quid is about $1200 now. Your currency is really divebombing.

Yes! I love death-defying airplane stunts. Especially those ones in cartoons where the plane stops inches from the ground, then continues and crashes like a piece of cheese.

You don't realize how truly boring Utah is.  The only things open past ten are 7-11 and Wendy's late night pick up window. And there aren't even that many things open until ten. And our mass transport system is pretty crappy unless you're in Salt Lake, which has light rail, but I think most of the Utah people live in the Provo area, and oh, Provo is a boring place to live. No one goes on vacation to Provo. I just want to make sure you are true and fairly warned before you decide to spend any time here.
If I had any clue, would I be here?

But don't forget from Provo you can pretty much walk into the mountains anytime you want.  Rock Canyon alone has several dozen very cool hiking trails.  Don't sell Provo short because it's not a "city"  It all depends on what you like.

Provo isn't that interesting for being a city. People who come to Utah for vacationing, come for the outdoor activities. Or they come for L.D.S. Church related activities.

All of this is true.  There are SOME things to do, but they're mostly outdoor-type things, which may or may not be fun in March.

Regardless, Gemm coming out would be a good excuse to take a trip to southern Utah.  We're thinking Moab, or maybe Goblin Valley (you know, where they filmed that scene from Galaxy Quest?)  You're all invited, if you want to go.

I haven't been able to go do outdoorsy stuff in forever. It's rather sad to live in a city when you can't get away from it very often. I think the last time I was when we had our ward camping trip to Vermont last September. I'd totally go if I were a Utah local. Last time I was in Moab we hiked to the Delicate Arch and river rafted down Flaming Gorge. Wait. No. That was two different trips. We just went hiking. Flaming Gorge is an entirely different place, isn't it? Anyway, I think my spring break budget probably doesn't involve flying somewhere.  :( (That's my spring break too.)

Most places are boring when you live there.
