Title: Hey Nessa
Post by: The Holy Saint, Grand High Poobah, Master of Monkeys, Ehlers on January 13, 2006, 12:08:16 PM
(you've grown up when you get your own "hey" thead)

How old are your kids? 7 years, obviously, and 19 months. How about the middle one? (they're all boys, right)

I've got a 6.5, a 4 (nearly 5) and a 2.5. All girls. I need righteous boys being raised in the world who won't touch them till they're married.

I have a 7-year-old daughter Amber, 35-month-old son Carter, and 19-month-old son Spencer. Yes, I know, the boys are close together. Fifteen months and one week to be precise. Spencer was my 'guess what honey' baby.

It was not intentional that all their names end in -er and are two syllables. It just happened that way. For some odd reason my husband didn't want to name our daughter with a name that ends in 'a' so that cut out more than half of all girl names.

I hope I'm bringing them up to be righteous individuals.  It's hard when I spend most of my time thumping them for spilling soy sauce all over their rooms  (http://www.timewastersguide.com/boards/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=rantage;action=display;num=1132678459;start=195) or writing on the walls with permenant marker (http://www.kenningtons.com/christenson/cartermarker.htm).

As as for being grown-up, it was official on 11-24-05 when I got this thread:

well, yes, it appears that Carter and Sarah are the same age. Perhaps we could come to an arrangement.

I would need pictures and a list of dowry offerings.

I will give you fair warning. Carter is a stinker.

*cough*

Dowry is usually offered by the bride's parents.

Right. Which is why she's waiting for E to make a list of dowry offerings, since he's got all the girls.

I bet SE tries to offer comic books.

dangit! You stole my idea!
Not really. I want to keep my comic books.

I thought a very intelligent daughter-in-law into games and SF would be dowry enough.

Or perhaps you have the wrong values.

I still need pictures, even if you refuse a dowry.

As for Carter, he loves light sabers (so much so, that he's already busted one from overuse) and knows the difference between Obi-Wan and Storm Troopers (thanks to his new Star Wars toddler action figures)...and that's about it so far. He's not quite 3 yet, so we're still teaching him the important things in life.

Rachael can tell Obi-wan from Quigon. She's advanced Star Wars.

Ok, pictures:
as a first born. Some pics too of her sisters, for reference when she gets older (http://www.saintehlers.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=rachbabe)

Recent pics, ca. Christmas (http://www.saintehlers.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album01)

Rach is just a little younger than carter. she's at 30ish months.

What a cute little blonde! And your other girls are cute, too. Nice family.

In 'a'? But over half of girls' names end in "y"!

Ookla, getting technical on me? Anyway, ending in 'y' often sounds like 'a', so that means the same thing, at least to my husband.

On second thought a lot of 'y' ending names sound like 'e'.

But then again most names that end in 'y' are actually nicknames, so that's not the real issue.

Whatever.

Wow SE, your kids must totally be evil.  Those read glowing eyes must have come from your side of the family.

Sprig's new name conjurs a truely frightening image.

*Fish shudders

It's essential that the names be something that doesn't typically degenerate into a "y"-ending nickname!!

Hey, nothing wrong with a "-y" ending to a name. :)

Or an "a" ending either.

Everyone knows that "i" endings are truely superior.

Except that the best names are those that come from literature.

Am I to take this to mean that I was, as you say, 'grown up' on my very first 24 hours after signing up on this site, with the start of this thread?

Interesting, perhaps this is why I seem to have dogded any form of a newbie bullet.

EDIT: Hmm. Since the link seems to be retarded >:( and will not work just go to page three of this section an you will see it near the bottom.
