I went to Bombay House tonight with my roommates. I love that place, from the decor to the music to the waiter who always makes you order too much food by saying "And?" after everything you tell him. Oh, and the food itself is fabulous too. I love Indian food. It's tasty and I still feel good after I eat it.

I will go through serious Bombay House withdrawals when I leave Provo.  :'(

I cook with "fish sauce" all the time, though "fish spices" are new to me.

Next time you go, ask if they have any Kaffir Lime Leaves, eh?

We had our company Christmas party today at Baci's. I had the most lovely vanilla lemonade and the spinach in the salad was so tender.

an egyptian market would have kaffir lime leaves, at least every one I've been to has, the problem is trying to find middle eastern(iranian iraqi israeli) type ingredients in california where multicultural mean putting random foods into taco form for that delightful "south of the border" flavor... god damn bobby flay...

I absolutely love Los Hermanos :) Great Mexican food. So good that I'm having my wedding reception there actually. Also good is Mazza, in SLC, which does Arabic food which is to die for.

Los Hermanos is good food.  I went there with my best friend in June.

I also like Los Hermanos.

Best restaurant in Utah, hands down, however, is La Caille.  It is also likely the most expensive restaurant in the entire state, however.

it's around Sandy (not sure the exact city) and it's a French restaurant that everyone out here thinks is run by the mob.  Typical cost is around $100 a person for a meal.  They even have their own Zoo there.

Their own zoo? wow. But French eh? I lived in Belgium (close enough to France for cuisine's sake) for a year, and while the French may be famous for their cuisine, I don't really understand their attachment to slabs of raw fish or piles of raw hamburger. Although escargot is actually quite good. Deserts are usually worth the $100 though... mmm... there are days I would kill for real chocolate, French style crèpes, Gauffres de Liége, or one of their designer ice cream sundaes...

Oh yes, and if the French ever tell you that they created the fry, beware. The Belgians are quite annoyed that the French stole the credit for their invention...

By "zoo" they have an ostentation of peacocks (normal and albino).  I'm unaware of any other fauna they keep around.

While Los Hermanos has okay food, I wouldn't go so far as to call it Mexican.

Los Hermonos is American Mexican food, which IMHO is much better than authentic Mexican food. I can do without the flies and odd (unedible) pieces of pig.
