I am a HUGE fan of Forum RPGs and I am currently putting together an RPG for the Mistborn Trilogy. I am in need of some staff for the RPG that really understand the book. I am not sure if anyone roleplays here but I would love for you guys to take a look at the site.
It is not open YET ... But I am hoping it will be ready to go within the next week!

Oh yeah, I forget that Pidgin will run AIM. I always forget because I use aMSN. xP

Better yet, Meebo. It's just a webpage, you don't even have to install anything to get all of the IM services out there going.
MistbornINQ, that's a really nice looking site you have there. Have you checked out the thread for the official Mistborn RPG that's in the works?

Board RPing and pen-paper RPing are completely different things. They mechanics are way different, but I am excited for the pen-paper as well.

I might not be as active as I should be, but I'm intrested in joining, and will be doing so a bit later. Are we allowed oc, or are we just rping standard characters?

It's almost all new stuff. The only canon character in the RP is TLR.

Yeah, well it is actually an AU (Alternate Universe) type of thing.
Kelsier, Vin, Dockson, Marsh etc. do not exist in this RP. It is all OCs. And the story is an open end right now, it will not follow the same route as the books, not unless the players actually do it the same way.
I plan on playing the Lord Ruler myself to keep the game somewhat on track, since he is the MAIN person. But even so, he will not be the focus of the game and will only come out every once in a while when the plot calls for it.
Otherwise it is all up to the new characters to how the game progresses.
I plan on implementing some of the following things as time goes on:
+ Thieving Crews - So Skaa can have a chance to interact and RP with the Nobility by stealing from them.
+ Monthly IC Balls - Where Nobles can do their politicizing, and socializing.
+ A system of Economics - Where the Nobility can control certain resources, and so giving them more power in the city/dominance. This will also give the Nobles a chance to make alliances with others in power to further elevate their status. (Still working on this idea ...)
+ The Inquisition - Where Inquisitors actively search out Mistings and Mistborn in character. Making things more exciting!
And as the game goes on ... the other metals besides the basic ten will be introduced, and eventually if the characters get far enough and close enough to toppling the lord ruler there will be a sort of revolution, where the Skaa will fight for their freedom IC.
All this and MUCH more to come for Mistborn: The Inquisition!
(And yes! I heard about the new Official RPG. I will be buying it for sure! But yes, as Miyabi said ... Forum RPG is very different. Never the less ... I am sure the Official RPG will have ALOTTT of new information for us fans!)

The site is amazingly beautiful. I must say, I was strongly tempted to join, as I love RPs and I love Mistborn, but I also happen to not have any time, so heh...

I suppose it might be worth it to join for Mistborn chat, but it's not really fair to anyone to make a character if they don't feel they can commit. They would feel bad (presumably, at least :P ) for not being able to keep up, and the active members end up with unresolved threads and plots.
That said, you yourself can choose just how much you want to involve your character in the plot of the site: do you want to be in the thick of things, as would be a good choice for someone with enough time on their hands? Or would you rather play a minor character: one who shows up and interacts, but doesn't have to commit to long-term involvement in the deepest twists and turns of the plot? It's up to you. We'd all love to have you, but I won't press you if you don't feel like you could keep up.
But I would like some more characters around for my Mistborn to spy on... ;)

Maybe by the end of the week I'll think up of a character. Right now I need to finish a short story and work on another project, but I really do like RPing. :D
It's too bad though, because if this was a year or so ago, I'd have a lot more time to devote to this and/or staffing. I've done basically forum RPs a lot. On the other hand I've usually done the single-topic RPs, rather than whole forum-wide ones. I think I can handle it though.
I'm definitely considering it. Now I just need a good character concept! Hehehe...

Just a friend topic bump: we now have eighteen accepted characters in the RP. Things are shaping up really nicely, and our first Ball is coming up soon.
